Cannot reset brake pad light

2006 325i

The front and back brake pad was recently changed with new sensors on each. The shop wasnt able to turn reset the light for some reason.

Ive tried restarting it by holding the cluster/reset button next to odometer to enter the resetting menu. I went into the rear brake pad selection and reset but it doesnt seem to do anything. The indicator remains the same as if nothing was done. He's doubled checked both brake pad and sensors. Still couldnt figure out whats keeping it from reset.

Pic1. Brake pad light on
Pic2. Rear brake pad reset selection
Pic3. Resetting
Then it goes back to pic 2 after reset.

Any ideas or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Sometimes new sensors are stubborn. Triple check the sensor and make sure it's securely plugged into the wiring harness. If that doesn't work, unplug the sensor and short the two pins on the harness. Try resetting the light again. Be sure to turn the ignition off before removing the short and plugging in the sensor.

Don't know if this is relevant to a 325i, but my 2007 335i brake pad light came on recently (erroneously) and also could not be re-set (turned off).

There is a Tech Bulletin (SI B34 02 08, Feb 2011 and updated in Feb 2013) "Subject Erroneous Brake Pad Replacement Message". Had to take it to a dealer to get updated software loaded to fix this glitch. Computer said I was "397,678 miles past due for pad replacement" (!!)

Cheers, ED
