Where to store loose change in the X3

I notice the X3 does not have a coin holder or an ash tray, just wondering where do you guys keep the loose change for parking meter and such.

You can keep it in the cup holder inserts. They came with the X3 back in 2011. Don't know if they still include them as standard. Here is a link:

Or go to the Container Store and get something that fits in the center arm rest storage compartment.

I pulled the removable cup holders and put them in the base of the drivers side door panel. I drop my loose change into them and find it easy to grab change as needed.

Have a pouch in the the center armrest.

I do like the idea of putting a container in the base of the driver's side door panel. We use our cup holders for cups.

I rarely need change. For tolls I have a transponder. For parking meters I have my pocket. If I had more of a need then I would move one of the cupholder inserts that are rattling around in the glovebox into a cupholder.

We learned, accidentally, that the cig lighter outlet in the front console will swallow coins and blow its fuse.

This has been an issue for years, dare I say decades, with BMW. On one hand they are innovators and can change alot, and on the other hand suffer from age old issues without addressing them.

I don't why they did not put one in the X3. There's plenty of space in the side door pocket. My 2003 BMW M5 has a coin dispenser built into the side pocket that fits flush and can rotate outward. Holds like 10 of each, quarters, dimes, nickels. They dispense one at a time. Pretty handy and organized.

Just put a little glass bottle in your glove box.

My 1995 325i had a neat coin dispenser built into the center console. BMW knows how to do it, they choose not to.
