Website now contains 2014 information

BMW just updated the website with the 2014 information as well as the 2014 build program.

As a side note, my production # that previously listed a 2013 Z4 335is now correctly shows a 2014 X1.

My previous orders have been US made bimmers so I don't have anything to compare to. However, after poking around this forum and a couple of others it sounds like I can expect it to take 3-4 weeks after completion to get to the east coast.

A good overall look at the order tracking can be found here:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=382239

Generally after being produced...
  • Car waits for shipping to the port of exit - can be a few days
  • Car sits at the port waiting for a ship to transport it - again, can be a few days
  • Car gets on the boat and ships to the port of entry in the US. East Coast deliveries take 2 to 3 weeks. West Coast deliveries take an extra week or two.
  • Car arrives and goes through the Vehicle Prep Center - Variable but a day or two generally
  • Shipping to your BMW Center - Any number of days depending on how far away your dealer is from the prep center

Lots of little variable timings in there that can push your delivery date a few days here and there. If you are in the south and your car is coming through Charleston, SC then there is another step of the car being transported from the port to the factory where the prep center is. In New York for example, the prep center is at the port so this step doesn't exist.

Hope that helps!
