Default Settings on new X1

Does anyone know where one can find a list of default setting options for the X1? My X1 is due at the dealer any day now and I would like to give them a list of preferred settings.

I am referring of course to the ones only the dealer can set in the car's computer.

My last new car was an '04 Lexus GS300 and there were many settings, literally dozens, that could be customized based on owner preference. The first settings are free so it good to know the defaults before hand so you do not get charged.

Based on a prior thread I know we can set the ASS to default off. On my former car the warning chime could be turned way down, the remote locking could be set to a quiet mode, the AC to default off (otherwise it runs all the time which is crazy), the passenger seatbelt warning could be set to flashing light only (no noise), auto lights and auto wipers defaulted to manual mode etc etc.

The list was long but the convenience of having all these electronics work the way you want them minimizes the annoyance factor. This is my first BMW so I am unfamiliar with the options.

Check out the manual, you can pull it from the BMW site. The manual will show you everything that can be personalized.

Unless I missed something the manual only lists User modifiable settings, not dealer defaults. It may be that there are no dealer settings and all the electronics are adjustable by the user. That would be great. But I seem to recall reading that the ASS can be defaulted to auto-off only by the dealer/technician.

If that is the case one assumes there are other default settings internally set by the dealer at the initial service. At least that is the way it worked with my last car.

Most items that the dealer had to program in the past are user settings now. ASS off or last setting is one of the only dealer settings that I know of.
