My new M3

Hello,

Owned several prior BMW's but just moved up to a new M3. Finally decided to join the forum instead of just reading posts...better late than never!

2013 M3 Coupe - Melbourne Red
Black Ext. Leather, Carbon Leather int.; Competition Pkg.; Premium Pkg.; M Double-Clutch; Heater front seats; Satellite; Enhanced Premium Sound; Black Kidney Grills; M Perf. Steering Wheel.

Bought off showroom floor (car was never test driven before as an added bonus!); came with moonroof instead of CF (I probably still would have ordered w/moonroof as I like it although I understand giving up the real performance/appearance advantage of the CF).

Traded in a MW 335i xdrive...super car but the M is a whole new driving experience!

Not broken in yet...waited to get the full clear bra treatment and nice weather (finally here).

Congrats!

Gorgeous M3

I make frequent trips to the mountains of Western Maryland and West Virginia in my M3. I especially enjoy opening the moon roof on cool starry nights. Stars blazing, tunes serenading, M3 Purring, I savor each magical moment.

Nice to see another 2013 M3!

Just picked mine up under 2 months ago. Similar spec. but no sport steering wheel. Debating getting one but also want to performance exhaust...

Beautiful car. Drive it and enjoy... Images of mine with full OE carbon fiber package attached.

Thanks for the picture J997tt! I have been considering the CF mirrors and really wanted to see it on red first - they look fantastic so I hope to be converting sometime soon.

J997tt, the question is, did you take your M3 to Home Depot to pick-up 2'x4's and/or Sheetrock?

OP, BTW, I'll be joining the Melbourne Red ranks soon. My M3 coupe just completed production today and is waiting transport to the port. I also opted for the black kidney grilles but have the carbon fiber roof. Will I miss the moonroof, probably.

The carbon roof looks cool not to mention the weight saving.

Agreed. For me, the decision to go with the carbon roof was in-part the unique feature to the coupe as well as contrast (with Melbourne Red).

Funny. No, there's a grocery store near the HD and being anal I park far away from most everyone... I debated carbon roof vs. not and in the end just wanted a moonroof. Don't regret it. I like another interior ventilation option not to mention another outlet to hear the V8 sing.

TBLM3. Let me know if you want some more close up images of the CF mirror caps. Be happy to forward.

Thanks J997tt - I would appreciate a few close-ups of the your CF Mirrors if you find time. I think they really look cool.

BYW - I bought my off the showroom; no CF roof M3's in inventory or on order. I do love the CF roof look though, especially on Red and would appreciate the weight savings but ultimately i still wanted the moonroof. For me, its the next best thing after a convertible and I do use it to let the light in and generate air without having to crank up the A/C.

P.S. I would love to find a clear side lamp replacement to change out the standard orange that don't go well with Red.
