Makes a whistling sound when given little gas

When i give my 2006 x5 a little gas it makes an annoying whistling sound when i give it a little gas. Not when idling, or when i accelerate hard just when you push the pedal a little. I really am aggrevated by it because it is right where im always pushing the pedal. I was reading on net by other owners( before i joined bimmerfest) that it could be the pulleys. Any input?

Check for OBDI codes next.
Possible air leak.

It could be that or a water leak is making water reach places it is not supposed to. My e36 320i has a radiator problem which was forcing me to pour water very often, the leak was somewhere down there some water touched parts its meant not to. We I start driving, applying a lil gas for the first few minutes the car would make that squealing sound.

Mines did this was the rubber boot that connects to the Throttle Body; 18$ part from a dealer (mines was free caught it when purchasing) and not much work to replace, inspect for a post maf vacuum leak.
Was a high pitched whistle only on acceleration.
If you can have a buddy press the pedal while you're looking under the hood to pinpoint the noise area if its not as obvious as mine was.

I can confirm that this boot can be a culprit when cracked. Experienced the same issue, and just had it replaced. No more whistle.

If i remember correctly, there was a problem with the timing or serpentine belt, so they had to replace it under warranty then, after that it was fine
