2006 750 Li - Bluetooth connection password

Just got my 2006 750 Li and am trying to connect my phone to the bluetooth function. The password was set by the former owner and I can't seem to get around this. Do I need to reset the computer to be able to connect my phone or is there another way to get around the password used by the former owner ? If a reset is necessary, can I do it or does it need to go to the dealer ?

Thanks for your help.

if what you are looking for is the actual bluetooth passkey so you can connect your phone you don't need a work around or a reset.

its located in the trunk, behind the left nav access panel on a silver "TCU" module about the size of 2 vhs tapes stacked together. if you look at the eject button on the nav player its located just to the right and is installed on about a 45 degree angle.

there is a white lable with the "PK" on it. i used a small telescoping mirror but you can also slightly pull back the trunk liner above the unit and it will be easily located.

My number was on a white card stuck in with the manual binder. Trying looking in there.

As far as I know, this is assigned from the factory and is not user changeable.

If you can't find the passkey on the TCU, any dealer should be able to retrieve it from the car's computer.

2007 750i bluetooth passkey

I have the same problem - I just bought 750i and the bluetooth passkey card is missing - and of course the dealer wants to charge me a ton.

I looked around the NAV as was suggested earlier in this thread. I see a single silver box about half the size of a VHS tape at a 45 degree angle. It has several 4 digit numbers printed on it, but none of those work as the passkey.

Help....

you don't see the letters "PK" anywhere on the white label?

No. I see the letters "HS" followed by a 4 digit code. There are also a couple of other 4-digit codes on the same label. I tried all of them, but none of them worked.

Worked like a charm

It's on the TCU unit above the one that's angled at 45 degrees. Saved me a trip to the dealer as the card I was given when I bought the car showed the incorrect BT PIN.

Beers for all!

I bought my 750i used and it did not come with the bluetooth card. You can take it to the dealership and they'll hook it up to the computer to print out the code. It usually takes about 20-30 min and there shouldn't be any fee.

Thumbs up That's it!

Found mine the same way (above the 45 deg angled silver box next to the Nav DVD unit), had to pull the trunk liner to see it. Thanks everyone!

Bluetooth passkey location

I just bought a 2006 750 Li and the passkey card was missing. I looked on the silver box above the cd changer in the trunk as this thread suggested. I had to pull the trunk liner away from the silver box and use a flashlight to see up to the black box above the silver box. There is a white label there with a 4 digit code preceded by the letters "pk". I tried it and it worked!!! My iphone paired immediately. thanks for the help...probably saved me $200 at the dealer to have them download the code.

if your dealer would charge you 200$ for that 10 minute job, you need a new dealer!!

search is your friend, this was just discussed about a month ago all the info u need is on that thread...Also if u want 2b smart about it, just wait until u service ur vehicle for something else then tell ur SA abou tthe bluetooth, mor ethen likely he will look u out... I know this because i have been told by my SA 2 never bring the car in for anything minor because they overlook minor things plenty times when u bring the car in for a real service.

2006 750 Li - Bluetooth connection password

When I bought my 750li the dealer has to replace one of my computers. Cant remember which. The interesting thing was my paired Bluetooth phone stopped working when I got it back. I called the dealer and said the new pk code was on the service receipt. It's very possible that the code in your trunk only shows the factory pk and not the replaced pk code. I'd have the dealer verify what the actual code is. Good luck.
