most american cars i wouldnt be interested in owning. ill appreciate them, but i wouldn't hand over the cash. maybe the new dodge challenger, but i did just have to google that to make sure i didn't say charger. we dont get american cars here so i didn't grow up with them etc, id say thats why.

my dream cars, in order that i would actually part with cash for, would have to be a Porsche 356 Speedster (in red), then an E30 M3 Evo3, and then a BMW 2002tii Turbo

That's nice right there. I like M5's. I've only seen one (Analog's) and his was a euro M5.
The way nikosx makes it seem, I don't think I'd every want to own one though lol.

I was in the lead buying analog's m5 off the original owner, Andy.
When I backed out logan aka analog picked it up.

Sad to see he sold it.

Nik is a good friend and by far one of the most knowledgeable on m5s outside of a speciality tech.
Nik's resources are better than the average e34 owner so he can maticulously maintain his fleet of M5s.
So to everyone's benefit he can literally walk people through any s38b36 and s38b38 maintenance project.

That said I'd pretty much take his word on anything m5 related.
I've consulted Nik on occasion on what to look for and what to avoid.

More than likely this one will fall into the hands of a someone looking to resale or part out.
Rarely on coparts do these fall into an enthusiasts hands.
113k on the clock and seeming good condition. It will do well.
However the location will determine how high it goes price wise.

We'll see it again.

No he doesn't. It's just a back and forth thing with select members. but it's all in fun.
So don't take it seriously

Just had a little problem with the feds last weekend... We were riding up on Red Mtn pass, which has a closed area to the north and west of the top of the pass. The line in the snow is the county line, and it is pretty easy to stay on the legal side. Since I worked for years on the forest service travel plan in this exact area, I am very familiar with the boundries.

This sign was appearantly the problem. What the clown boy from the USFS didn't know was that I helped put those signs up five years ago during the dispute as president of the local snowmobile club.

So the gestapo shows up about 1pm. Two of us rode back down to the truck because my buddies sled had thrown a code and wasn't running right, my sled was acting up as well so we went back to switch to the spare sled for the rest of the afternoon. The officer gets right in my face demanding my ID. I ask him why, he tells me I was riding a closed area, I tell him no I wasn't and that he can F*** off. It turned into a huge fiasco, those idiots picked the wrong two guys to try and bully that day. It came to the point where I was threatened with a taser and handcuffs. So I finally back down and show the guy my ID. They see the rest of our group come riding towards the trucks and more or less run back to their vehicles and leave.

I have talked to their captain and I am submitting a letter of complaint. They detained me under a false premis, refused to show us ID themselves or explin exactly what we had done. We were extremely belligerant with them, lots of colorful metaphors where bandied about. As someone who has spent years fighting for my land use rights, these two really went about the contact in a bad way, and it almost turned REALLY bad for them. My buddy told taser girl that she had better be very careful before she decides to take it to that level. I wathced her unsnap the bail on both her taser and her pistol, placing her hand on her gun. Problem for her was tht I was watching this and she was less than an arms legnth in from of me. My training tells me... she would have hit the ground before she ever got a weapon drawn.

So I didn't get any good mtn pics because I was pretty pissed the rest of the day So half my week has been letter writing and half trying to get the snowsled sorted again. I am going to do a thorough check on my TPS wiring this morning, I would really like to ride tomorrow... peacefully, without having to show my papers to the nazi regime

Counties are divisions within a state. They are unique from a law enforcement perspective in that they have more power than the federal govt officers. I spoke to my County Sheriff today at our counties "Mud Festival"... truely a redneck event

He had heard of the incident, I related my side. He is concerned about the power some of these new federal officers, funded by Homeland Security ( an expensive, probably unnecessary bearcracy in our govt.). He agreed they let the situation get way out of control. Nice to run into him and have a chat

So anyway, the county line doubles as a US Forest Service District boundry. The county line is well marked. The USFS was able to run two officers up to bother me in about $100k worth of new vehicles but, can't afford to post a decent map of an area they intend to patrol? So no more education, from people WE pay, now we spend money on law enforcement and make it difficult for you to figure said laws out on your own.

These are becoming very interesting political times in our country. I felt my experience was a harbinger of the direction we are headed, frightening really.

Yeah pretty much the same thing. Except when you go to Southern California, Laredo, Texas, and Arizona. Then it's called something else.

Well, we had a nice peaceful, uninterrupted ride today. We left a little early since it is getting into the 70's in town and the snow gets rotten in the afternoon.

How about a frozen waterfall for starters

Wild rock formations...

And big valleys...

From the place where we stopped in the last pic, we can see town, just a few miles away as the crow flies.

Saw my car today.

I stopped and spoke to the new owner.

He hadn't done anything to it because he hadn't had time.

I did something pitiful though.

I'm buying it back.:
Yes I missed it that much.

For the newcomers and Andy.

Andy could you Please put your "Help us Help you" thread in bold letters.

Not that I (and probably others) mind newcomers asking for solutions for questions.

But they must understand we need more info then what's being given.

We all are used to diagnosing issues from a distance (which we do well)

But to have more clarity the OPs need to give us more info on their cars.

For though we all share the same model. There are differences in the model line from 88-96. (sedan, touring, engine, package, trans, etc)

I second this motion Andy. Also might not hurt to enlarge the font some and put it in red or something like that, you know, to grab their attention. There's been a rash of recent "help. My car won't start" threads.

Ya DIY for new commers that shows them how to make a thread with nessasary info to benefit everyone more.

Basic layout sheet..

Model
Year
Motor
Trans
Mileage

Your Issue

Your Symptoms

Sounds? If so what? Are they speed or rpm related

Sound clip link/photo links

For how long has it been like this?

Is it constant or recurring?

Recent work done to anything? Or had other issues before?

Does your CEL come on too ? Code?

Does it happen at certain times, places, conditions?

What does not feel right when you drive?

Room for notes-

Just something like that you can expand on. All those questions were gona have to ask anyways.. they copy it and fill it out so we get as much info to begin with as possible. Or am i just smoking to much..

good idea, but I doubt people will copy paste all that.

Just K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) Give us all the info you can pics are helpful, videos are excellent. But as long as we have the proper info we can assist.

Otherwise sled may reach through your computer screen and commence to bash you like your name was Robertbaggio or whatever his name was.
