Was able to code all interesting features for me from this thread. Now waiting to install hitch to code it by myself...

I'm in Charlotte, NC, have lates available daten (49.1) for e70 so I can help anybody if you are around.

6. Corner light delete
7. Digital speedometer (Even though I already have HUD)

I still have to code the trunk close from the button inside and also the keyfob.
Why foglights active with high beams?

Fog lights goes off when the high beams are on.

If you do the coding then you could have the fog lights stay on when you flash your high beam or use high beam.

^^ If you are above v42, you'll need an FSC for 6NR. Only person I know who can get that FSC is Patryk or Men from bimmertech.

You need the K+DCAN cable for coding.

I hope one of these days someone will make a good video of the whole coding process for our X5. The learning curve seems a bit brutal if you have to figure it all on your own.

I wish there was a place with all the software package and steps to get things done.

So many different software version, and daten and all .. a bit overwhelming...

That being said, I ordered my cable and started storing the files. I managed to get my hand on the '2.47.1 SP-Daten', not even sure what that mean lol but it seems the latest version I could get.
Now I need to figure out which software to use. I am bit confused by the fact that there are 2 or 3 different software.

Can anybody comfirm which software is used to do the 'basic coding' mentioned in this thread: mirror fold / tail gate close ...

Last question, can remote start be 'coded' ?

I have v49 and v49.1 for E70 as well as all soft you need. Will shoot you pm how to get them. I can confirm that all you need at this point is BMW Standard Tool. I have 2.12 version that seams to be the latest.

Also, 47.1 this is update not full daten version so you can have just tiny piece of daten. Example - v49 is the full package but v49.1 contain just fiew updated files. There's v49.2 also but no E70 files affected at all so you will not get any E70 files there.

I agree, I found it very confusing too (and I'm a software developer). The biggest issue I had when starting out was that the DIY articles used a lot of acronyms that I wasn't familiar with and it was very hard to find their definitions. The other issue I had was that they would tell you to do things but never explain why certain things needed to be done.

I found this guy's post very helpful. After reading it I felt like I finally understood the process end-to-end, and most importantly, why you have to do certain things.

Hey guys. I noticed a lot of people posting in here for local coding. I had mine done remotely (out of state) from Mike Benvo at BPM Sport. He did the following on my E70 2010 X5 35D Diesel.

Coded:
1. Windows up / sunroof close with keyfob
2. Mirrors fold on lock with keyfob
3. Disable annoying iDrive disclaimer
4. Hazzard double blink
5. Foglights active with high beams
6. Corner light delete
7. Digital speedometer
8. Drivers door single pull to open (instead of pulling twice)
9. Trunk close with keyfob or trunk button inside cabin
10. Angel eyes, head lights and fog lights turn on for 30 seconds with unlock from keyfob
11. Turn signal triple blink changed to 5 blinks

Flashing:
1. Programmed transmission to have sport mode.
All I can say about that one is I have so much more power now as the shift points are WAY better.

Only last things I have to do now are
1. Remove the top speed limiter of 130MPH from the DDE and performance tuning the Diesel.
2. Install paddle shift steering wheel and wire the SZL to the DDE for the paddle shifters to work.

The only thing that sucked with the Diesel is you can't flash the DDE without putting it in boot mode (by grounding the pin on the DDE).

I am curious about the zoom function on the rear camera. If you can tell us what line you changed on the CIC that would be awesome!

Oh, one of my gages on my cluster went out and my E70 is out of warranty, so I bought a used cluster and modified the eeprom to my vin so no tamper dot and kept my miles. If anyone needs help with getting used clusters to work on their car let me know as I have a awesome surface mount machine and am excellent with hot air soldering (and hex code!).

Is the harness to the EGS complete, for the paddle shifters to work? It just wiring from the SZL to the DDE thats missing? I remember reading about some missing module. I don't plan on doing this considering that the RPM range on the 35D is so small compared to the gasser.

Mein Auto: 2013 X5
I had my 2013 X5 coded by TRIPLE_O (Okee) three months ago (barely had 100 miles on the odometer at the time) but wanted to learn to do it myself and have been getting up to speed.

I just added the trailer hitch zoom - after paying my dealer $1,400+ to install it, they left that out (my dealer sucks - I plan to post a full story at some point).

I also wanted to post a new one - enabling the Weather Band. For some reason, on 2013 X5s, they disabled it. Took it out of the owner's manual, etc... But, it's still there.

Module: CIC
RADIO_WEATHERBAND

Was set to nicht_aktiv. Changing it to "aktiv" enabled weather radio - now I can get the weather reports before heading out on the water for the day. Awesome. No idea why they disabled this in the 2013s... If you live in tornado alley, a good one to re-enable.

Re: Successfully coded my E70

I can code your X5 remotely and I can ship my own cable. All you need is a windows 7 or XP laptop with WiFi connection. Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested.

So far, we were able to code this feature on the F chassis but not on E chassis.
