Good Test tracks for the HK speakers.

Hi all,

Picking up my 328xi with the HK radio added on Saturday. Can anyone recommend some good music tracks to really get a feel of the unit? I listen to mostly Punk music, but do listen to many different genres of music as well.

I do have a bunch of stuff on my iPod all in 320 or in high quality VBR formats. I have the Eagles, Pearl Jam, Steely Dan albums on the iPod, but I was wondering what else to look at?

I like to use Rage, Blur, and Muse. Each have a nice combination of full range sound with keyboards, bass, effects, and screaming guitar. I just tested my wife's HK system over the weekend with some 311, Beastie Boys, and Pink (her choice). My 10 year old made me download Gangham Style back when it was hot and I have to admit it sounds incredible on the HK. It has a lot of bass and electroica and the HK system plays it well.

If you really want to test full range, and you have some old school tendencies, Rush's Xanadu from A Farewell to Kings is incredible. It takes a while to get going, but it starts with birds chirping, distant bells, ethereal guitar and then around the two minute mark the full bass, guitar, and drums kick in for a mind blowing speaker test.

Play with the settings. I found the flat setting on the eq to be a little lifeless and decided to tweak the upper and lower end adjustments. I have the bass turned way up to get those little underseat "subs" to sound decent.
