new 550i, pics INSIDE and couple of q's

Just got my very first Bimmer a couple of days ago- 2013 550i M sport with executive package, driver assist, heated seats, ceramic controls, and power rear sunshade. Really EXCITED and HAPPY!! Thanks a lot to this forum for answering my preliminary questions- your insight and input allowed me to make an informed decision and thereby get a good deal.

I got a couple of questions that I was hoping anyone could shed some light on.

1. I thought that the one touch turn signal option was present in the 550? When I tap my turn signal, it just blinks once whereas I thought a mere tap would result in a 3-fold blink? Any thoughts?

2. Getting it tinted next week. I would also like to add the gloss black kidney's ASAP but am a little hesitant about installing it myself (don't want to pay the dealer 120+ for what seems like a pretty quick DYI). I've been reading a couple of posts that state you don't need to unscrew anything or remove the grill overlay from the engine bay; that you can merely PULL (with force) the stock grills out with your hands and then VIOLA, add the new ones. Is it REALLY that easy? With this being my first BMW, and a brand new one at that, I hope you can understand my trepidation. So I merely grab hold of the stock grills and pull out and down, slowly yet forcefully?? Any good links for this? Can someone please appease my concern, I don't want to break anything? Once I remove the stock grill's, do you just simply CLIP the black kidney's in place? Thanks.

3. I am thinking about replacing the sliver 550i badge with a gloss black 550i badge. Before finalizing this, I would like to see pics of fellow members that have the gloss black 550i badge, pref. on their AW. This will help solidify my decision.

Thanks to my cousin (CarolinaM5) for his support and input. He's always been telling me to check out BMW, and I can finally say with confidence, I "GET IT" now.

I have included some pics of my new 550. Attached are also some pics of my cousins M5 w/ ADV wheels.

You have to configure this in idrive under settings, there is a setting for a 3 flash blinker on 1 push. As to the rest... others must help! Great looking ride, I was torn between the 550 and 740.... V/r, Tim

Are you an acquaintance with the yellow Lambo owner?

Swapping out grills is that easy.

I prefer to debadge, but someone here in the F10 forum rebadged to black, maybe it was StealthPilot?

Also, I hope you were joking about the BEMUR. Although it isn't known by the general population, but Beamers are motorcycles and Bimmers are cars. Oh crap, I just became "that guy".

Finally, congrats!

Gloss black badge 550i on white is very obnoxious. It is better to go with white or debadge.

I'm definitely trying to keep it classy but hoping to add it bit of a personalized touch. I just thought the gloss back badge would make for a nice contrast against the AW, def don't want it to take away from the beautifully crafted rear.

I tried to search for stealthpilot but am having trouble finding his car...anyone have ANY pics or links of a gloss black badge on a 550?

As far as I know Stealth never blacked out the badge on his 550 when he owned it. I prefer the debadge look personally. I think a gloss black badge on Alpine White is distracting. Leave it stock or take it off.

Wasn't he telling me that's what I should do with my Dinan badge? I dunno, I guess it could have been any of a number of guys with that suggestion. Anyway, I think Alpine White badges might provide a unique look.

EDIT: I found it, it was Stealth alright - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=55

Congrats. Good looking car.

Doing the kidney replacement is super easy. It literally took me 4 minutes.

Here's a thread where I heard to do it. The gloves were a good suggestion. It's just a plastic bumper and you can't "snap" anything off of the bumper - it's very pliable.

Another "easy" vote for the grill swap. Took me 5 minutes total. It probably helps if the car is warm.

Yes - just did mine today. Warm engine bay makes it easy.

looking clean, thanks for the input fellas! I just ordered my OEM BMW Performance F10 5 Series Gloss Black Grills today. https://www.getbmwparts.com/partloca...catalogid=4462

Quick question- what is the difference between OEM BMW Performance F10 5 Series Gloss Black Grills (on page 1 of getbmwparts F10 accessories) vs the Genuine BMW F10 M Performance Black Kidney Grills (on page 3) http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Thanks so much. Car is being tinted this week and I will install the grills then as well, can't wait. Loving my new f10, looking for excuses to drive to places just so I can get behind the wheel. Will post pics once it's done.
