I had a 2011 F10 with multicontour and drove a 2013 for a few days with standard seats. Standard F10 seats are WAY more comfortable. Have comfort seats on X5 which are absolutely amazing, multicontour on the F04 are second.

It has an MSport suspension included.

Does anyone know what an "MSport suspension" actually is?

ECS sells what seems to be the original BMW MSport set of springs for F10 535i not equipped with EDC or Dynamic Drive. I am not sure if the springs are the only component of MSport suspension for new cars built with this option.

Here in the States, it's just standard seats vs multi contour seats. I like the latter for the upper articulating portion which allows my head to rest on the headrest at all times while driving. I can't recall any other seat allowing me to do that. Again, ergonomics and seat comfort varies from person to person. I suggest get in both and see which one works best for you.

I bet they show up as an option for the 2014's, it makes sense as the standard seats are a bit "meh" looking and if the MC seats are considered a premium above the Sports (are they?) than it's a perfect solution for those that don't want all the ventilated/active stuff. For the record, I like my standard seats and find them comfy enough but those sport seats are much more M5'ish and desirable.

The multi contour seats do not have the ventilated or active function, those are in the comfort seat option.

F10 multicontour seats are good. E60 multicontour were better with the adjustable side bolsters. Big fail BMW NA.

Cost reduction or they could not get overweight customers into the seats properly. Not sure which.

The E60 is so ugly that it can have a lazy boy chair in there and it would not have matter

Not. The Multi-Contour seats in my 2011 E70 (and my 2006 E60 before that) are MUCH more comfortable than the Multi-Coutour seats in my 2011 F10. The lump in the middle of the back (feels more like a 2 x 4 in mine) is dreadful.

The bottom line: Most folks like them. But a bunch of us who have had Multi-Contours in multiple BMW's do not like the ones in the F10.

Its funny that its always the same 3 people who complains about the F10's multi-contour seats, must be a exclusive club or something

To be precise, there is NO "comfort seat" option. Package ZLS, "Luxury Seating Package" consists of 453 Ventilated Front Seats and 455 Active Front Seats. A combination which was called "Active Ventilated Seats" prior to 2013.

To be really anal, here are the possible seating options in a 2013 F10:
  1. Standard seats in Leatherette (528 models only)
  2. Standard seats in Dakota Leather
  3. 456 Multi-Contour Seats in Dakota Leather
  4. 456 Multi-Contour Seats in Nappa Leather
  5. ZPS Multi-Contour Seats with Ventilated and Active in Dakota Leather
  6. ZPS Multi-Contour Seats with Ventilated and Active in Nappa Leather
  7. Zi1 Individual Composition with Standard Seats in Novillo or Extended Merino Leather
  8. ZI1 Individual Composition with Multi-Contour Seats in Novillo or Extended Merino Leather
  9. ZI1 Individual Composition with Multi-Contour Seats in Novillo or Extended Merino Leather with Ventilated and Active

How's that for complicated?

You could apply to join if you like, but you will need 3 letters of recommendation.

Obviously, our little "club" has members who are really P*SSED that our not-cheap Multi-Contour Seats are so much less comfortable than what we'd expected, based on our past experience.

My Volvo V70R's seats were more comfortable (and supportive) than my 535 Multi-Contours.

Having said that, I find the MC's to be not too bad, but a little less than I was expecting. My MDX has more side bolstering, for crying out loud.

Bumping the OP since everyone is talking about E60's and 2011 models and the 875 iterations of 2013 seats.

Did your sales person ever explain their thinking in saying your car came with "Sports Seats?" Perhaps he got a 2014 briefing of some sort (and BMW is bringing sports seats to the USA as part of the M-sport) and simply forgot that your 2013 wouldn't have them. Or perhaps thinks the standard seats are "Sport Seats." It is a mystery ....but also remember they finally brought the proper m-sport suspension for 2013 so I'm sure there are more nuggets coming down the line and it absolutely makes sense to weeze in a seat upgrade with the M-Sport package.

The thigh extension and articulated upper back make the Multi-Contour seats worth the extra cost to me. I would definitely order them on my next 5er. BMW should have included them in the M-Sport Package for 2013.

Do you guys think that the F10 not coming with side-bolsters is perhaps due to upholding an even remotely "luxurious" entry-exit? Me being tall, and my girlfriend being short (and a girl) both have noticed in our own ways how the F10 sits so sporty for a Luxury Sedan, it's almost as "hard" to get in and out of than my old lowered Mustang was (a good thing to me, love the seating position for a Sedan, but to someone who doesn't like to put stress on themselves when entering or exiting, it certainly isn't as easy/upright/high as my E Class was). I notice it because obviously I'm tall enough and need to concentrate when I get in or out as to not scrape anything or bump around, and she notices it because it's hard for her to "gracefully" enter or exit, without having to grab onto something especially (which I frown strongly upon ). Come to think about it, my Dad who's used to his SUV and a little "older" had to wrap his hand around my A-Pillar to use as a solid base to help lift himself out of my F10. I'd imagine with side bolsters, getting in or out would be a huge pain, at least for those who are short or tall. Not that I'd be against side bolsters at all, however.

Polyester ultra suede in a luxury sedan? Really?

Just what exactly do you think the F10 M package is? A 911 GT2 RS?
