New M4: When does it arrive...2015 question

Is this subforum new? I just noticed this today, i'm not sure if I missed it the whole time i've been lurking and i've been blind or this just popped up.

Anyways, I was at a BMW dealership in Naperville, IL today and the dealer told me not to expect the M4 until 2015. I've read conflicting reports on these forums and on the internet, but with what I was told today and the title of this new subforum...is the M4 more likely to be 2015 or possibly earlier?

I only ask because i'm torn between the current E92 vs the upcoming M4.

Given the traditional lag between a new model and its M variant, 2015 sounds about right.

PI'd go for the E92 M3, with the last of the naturally aspirated ///M engines, and its non-electric power steering. The new M4 will probably be faster, and less engaging.

Forgive my ignorance but do you mean MY2015 which should be available in 2014 or do you mean MY2016 which should be available in 2015. Thanks.

+1, I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

I don't think anything has been confirmed yet. Last I read, it might be end of 2014 as a MY2015 for the M3 sedan. I won't be in the market until 2016 so I hope it will come out a year or two earlier to shake out the first year issues.

M3 and M4 hit showrooms the end of spring/beginning of summer 2014.
M4 concept is debuting this weekend at Pebble Beach (if not tonight online).

I love Bimemrfest, but Bimmerpost always seems to have much better news and updates:

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into upgrading the M Forum to enhance the M4 coverage. That's a great comment and I agree.

Ok well so I looked over the recent threads, and this one seems as likely to be of interest as most, but it also deals with the question of 'wait or buy' and when.

So I'm going to sticky this, and rewicker the title a bit to help centralize the discussion a bit...Feedback on this would be appreciated as we go...

Looks like we may have more solid info once the concept is officially debuted this weekend

Not necessarily. The DTM drivers stated that the M4 brought back the drivers experience and felt more with the road during their time on the Nurburgring testing.
