Have you had the codes read as there are many reasons for the check engine light

Now its off. It did this three weeks ago. It came on for two days then was off for three weeks. Went on for three days and now has been off for the last two days. To answer your question: no. No light on dash indicating anything and when i hit the check button says nothing as far as a problem. Ever have this happen to you. If there is a code why would it go off?

Check Engine light comes on because you have a trouble code that is in the computer. You need to get the car scan to retrieve the trouble code. The trouble code will tell you what the problem is.
