good buy?

I've been scouting around for 550is all of the place and ran into this one:

http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invento...787_isFeatured

Good deal or talk down closer to 20K? clean as hell.

No navigation, no sport package, no folding mirrors. It says cold weather package so you may have heated rear seats (couldn't see in pic)
I definitely think this could be talked down to $20000.
It is very clean looks good, just pointing out what it doesn't have so you are aware (as you may be already).
Nice low mileage. Would have been nice to get some engine pics, either way there's some maintenance items that need to be taken car of if not done already. Vehicle history check and all should be good.
It's a quick car compared to an 03 530i.

It does say it has cold weather package, you can see the front heated seat switches. Because of that package you'd get heated steering wheel and headlight washer jets. Can't remember about the heated rear seats. (I have heated rears with CWP 06).
It's definitely not loaded. No sport package with those rims (style 116) it would have style 124.
It definitely doesn't have navigation with the smaller screen, and one slot below the A/C controls (would be two with).
It's a nice car, but those are options a lot of people look for, especially sport package.

thanks a million for the responses. what exactly does the sports package bring to the table. Im sure its worth it 150% so again im curious the different from standard package to sport and is the sports package considered the same thing as the M package? dumb questions I know as I am just trying to learn everything.

Sport package brings shadow line window trim, not chrome. Active Roll Stabalization (ARS) so you can corner like a rock star. Sport steering wheel.
Lowered suspension. The M sport package came with the 2008+ 550i and that sweet body kit with style 172 rims that most E60 owners want to own (at least at one point before the F10's came along).

for someone like me that obviously loves bimmers for a lot of reasons but im not a fanatic, how much would I benefit by getting a 550i with more miles such as the 2nd choice vs the first with lower miles just so I can get the added options at the same price essentially. I want reliability and the lower miles is pretty attractive to me and since this car will already blow the doors off what I am currently using then I don't really think I need the sports package or nav options. I figure I can trade mine in, get the warranty (if the warranty is legit) and still get the first car for under 18K.

Trust me, with a 550i you want the Nav and sport package. As long as the car was well maintained (get dealer records) the higher miles is still a good buy.

I have never used nav (even when I had in my old '05 infinity G35 coupe) so honestly I wouldn't know the difference. so its really more the sports package is what you think I really would want? What all does the sports package do to improve the performance?

don't get me wrong, I love the look of the 2nd option with more miles. beautiful car but I also like the other as well. 2 different looks for sure.

The space gray and carbon black are almost identical in both equipment and miles...just pick whichever one has the better maintenance records and your color preference...

thanks Jim. there are quite a few out there for sale so may as well keep looking, but for example if you were to buy 1 of these 2 with the higher miles but loaded, what would you barter to pay? this is assuming that the maintenance history is spotless.

For my area, those prices are actually fairly good. With those miles, those cars are going for about $25k on average around here. With the common knowledge of trying not to pay what they are asking, if you could try to get 1k-1.5k off, you'll probably be ahead. But the price for the carbon black one doesnt seem that far off base...

Probably better negotiating opportunity with a private seller...especially if you have cash/check in hand. Private seller will be more forthcoming about any issues, but that can seen via the key fob or VIN at your dealer anyway. The carbon black one is probably the one to jump on..

also is there a car delivery service company that is suggested over others or would most folks fly out to pick up and drive home? Lastly, should I feel comfortable enough to purchase based on pictures and a full maintenance records? seems a little risky.

Looks like this one has PDC and back-up cam. Is this an option. I have PDC, but no cam. I would like to have the rear cam also.

I've got a 2008 alpine white black interior with mtech. I've got PDC but do not have back up cam. Not sure if I saw it saying there was a back up. FYI sport mode and hitting the shifted to sport is tons of fun on these cars. Good luck with purchase and enjoy.

thanks again fellas. I am going to continue the search and the trigger will be pulled w/in the next few months. again, do you guys suggest if buying out of town to fly and check out before purchasing or by viewing pics, talking with the seller on phone and reviewing the maintenance logs good enough to purchase? next would you fly in and drive home or trust a vehicle transportation company to bring the bimmer to me? THANKS!
