Recently I have noticed quite a few surprised faces of other drivers. In my area there are a TON of 525s, 528s, and 530s, not many 545/550's so when they try to pull on me from a light they get quite a shock when they get left behind. The day I bought my car a Toyota Highlander tried to pull on me from a light (I was in the left lane and he apparently needed to make a left at the next light, but he was in the center lane) his eyes got pretty big when he couldn't approach me. Some of the funnier ones are the big trucks that think since they have V8's they can take you easily, ignorant of the fact that - yes, BMWs have V8s too.

LMAO, yep, that will happen. A modded 535 can easily take a 550, but a stock one? Not even close, we have almost 70 more HP and gobs more torque

Before I got my bimmer GTI's were just another car on the road... but LMFAO they mustn't like us because wow they like to think they stand a chance.

But in saying that, the GTI's are P platers(not a full license) choice of car here in melbourne, australia. so they are all young and when they see that I am a P Plater too in a bimmer I guess that's why they want to test me.

Mein Auto: 2006 530xiWagon
Just got an '06 530xi wagon. At great risk to my man-card, i did read the manual, and discovered most of the features listed here. My favorites so far are

RH mirror aims at the ground when in reverse, if the mirror select switch is on the left hand mirror position. If you don't want it to aim at the ground, flip the selctor to the right mirror

SHMBO likes that the center console has a ventilation option, so make up doesn't have to melt. Little slide-up door in the front of the cubby

That I could get a wagon, for her of course, and still have a BMW to drive....although that idea is under attack, since she's getting mighty possesive of 'her' car now.

Major disappointment that the cupholders specifically prohibit the use of wine glasses, as was pointed out before. Since champagne flutes are not prohibited, all may not yet be lost....TBD

The adaptive cruise not only backs off if someone pulls into your lane ahead of you, but that you can vary the 'safe distance' it adjusts to with the dial on the cruise switch. In the display, there is the 'railroad track' emblem, two side bars indicating the side of the road, and then horizontal bars. The more horizontal bars shown, the greater the distance it will keep.

Finally found the temp gauge on 04 530i, it is right around the perimeter of the tachometer, you will see like five horizontal lines when car is cold, as it gets warm you will see less lines

I'm waiting for the Mustangs around my parts to try me. It's fun surprising them with the take-off and watching them scream by pissed off once I slow down to the speed limit.lol Then I drive by the cops at normal speed as the mustangs just blew by them. "I don't know what THAT was about officer."

The poster mentioned a 2013 535, which is a twin scroll turbo, not a true TT.

The M Sport package doesn't come with staggered wheels -- they're the same size on all four corners.

Really? I've got M Sport 19" wheels and they're staggered. What does M Sport package come with? My 550 came with Type M172 Wheels.

If you are talking about the side mirror tilting down when you place your transmission in reverse . . . you need to remember that it only tilts down when your side mirror switch is to the right.
