jacking the car up to the stands

I've been reading various guides and some of them talk about putting up the car up jack stands.

like I'm flushing the radiator or doing a change oil, do I need to put the car on jack stand on all 4 corners? What situation requires jacking up the car on all 1 or 2 or 4 corners?

The car should be level when draining fluids. A set of ramps should be had for times when not doing wheel/suspension work.
Front wheels on the ramp, jack the rear and set on stands.
Sometimes when doing a coolant flush, the vehicle doesn't even have to leave the ground. (On X5's)
The radiator drain is right there in front (after removing splash shield of course) and the engine drain isn't too far in and some people can reach without jacking it up. Can't be a big guy/gal, but if you're small enough it's doable. (On X5's)

You only need to jack it off....oops I mean jack it up if you need to get underneath the car. I can fit under and reach the oil drain plug so I don't have to put it up on jacks.
