Question passenger door

not sure if this has happened to any of you guys,......

i was driving along, in the car myself, and made a pretty aggressive left turn, i heard a thud, and then a warning bell came on,....i noticed that the passanger door had popped open, not completley open, but not in the locked position....i pulled over, open, then closed the door, and havent had any problems since..

Probably wasn't closed properly to begin with...

Do you have soft close doors by any chance?..

No soft close doors. And to me...I would have gotten an alarm sooner if the door wasn't completely closed. I just don't want anyone falling out. Very strange.

That's very true... Hmm.. I would stop by a dealership and have the door and lock mechanism looked at just to be safe...

I've had a few times where the door hasn't closed completely (driver and passenger). As I have a '12, I don't have soft-close, and I'll leave my b!tching at that - for once... . When the doors haven't closed properly, I have always gotten a warning before I left the parking spot.

Highly unusual. Certainly deserves a check at the dealer's. Safety comes first.

I had this issue once in my previous E60 rear passenger door. Alarm sounded but the door was half latched. The kind of half latched that you know it won't swing open even if you tug it hard. One of those 1 in 20000 times chance of misclosing I guessed. Never happened again.
