Hand Brake - Fix or Adjustment?
Hi Guys, I have a particular problem with my handbrake on my 525i E60 2004 model. Over the past 2-3 years the hand brake has been adjusted by the Indy's at least 3-4 times and the problem seems to come back after 1-2 months of the car behaving properly.
Now the problem - When the car stops, I have a tendency to keep my foot on the brake pedal until I exit the car (not sure if it is just me or common habit). So the sequence is, car stops -> I still have my foot on the brake pedal -> Car turned off -> I apply the hand brake -> I remove my foot off the brake pedal and car rolls couple of inch forwards and stops or rolls forward and backwards and stops. Its like a slow move or jerk depending on the angle the car is parked.
Is this normal?
If not, is it the adjustment that is not done properly?
If not, is there a hand brake pad that might need replacement?
From what I have searched so far, I have only found people having issues with adjustment or the hand brake wire replacement.
