My M3 order just moved to 150 status

A deal that was transacted in January and aligned to a production slot in March, my order is now in 150 status. Now, IMO, the long wait begins. I am thinking/planning for delivery just before Memorial Day weekend.

My build:

M3 coupe
Melbourne Red w/ black novillo and carbon leather trim
Premium Pkg
Competition Pkg
Heated seats
Enhanced audio
DCT (I went back-and-forth on this selection)
Carbon fiber roof
Black kidney grilles

Checked with the BMW hotline this morning, order still in 150 status but end of production is scheduled for 4/15. I now have the VIN #. Progress.

Getting a bit closer. As of today, my car was at the shipping port. Looking at the schedule, one boat leaves today and another on 4/24. I suspect my car will be on the 4/24 boat. Another 4 weeks to go....

John, once you call the number provided by kscarrol, press 0 to speak to a representative. You'll also need to say (after pressing 0) "vehicle". Provide them with your product or VIN #. You'll know if it has been built or at the port.

For reference, my production start date was the same as yours. There's a chance it could also be at the port or on a the boat. I am looking at arrivals at New York (really New Jersey). The Asian Emperor left yesterday. While the Asian King departs on 4/24. Once I know for certain I'll track it through the maritime website.

As I recall, "waiting to be picked up the carrier" means production is finished but the car is still at the factory where a truck/train will bring it to the port. Usually only takes a day or two to get to the port, then you wait for the ship. Call your SA, he/she can provide you the name of the ship and an estimated ETA at the port here in the US. My SA gave me the information though some are not as helpful as others...

John, I believe your order is in status 181 or 182 which is "waiting for domestic dispatch" or "released to carrier" respectively. From there it goes to status 190, 191 and finally 193 which states at the port. Now it's a question of being scheduled to a ship. It's possible that our vehicles will be on the same ship. Your CA will have this specific information.

I did buy my M3 from Tulley. IMO, they were very easy to work with. My CA is Steve H.

the guy i worked with was ed poole. it was very easy to buy from tulley. i actually first test drove one this past summer when they had a classic car show that i was taking one of our older cars to.

i will ask ed in a few days if he has any info. i bet that it would be on that April 21st or 24th ship that you (nhman) talked about. it would be funny if the delivery was the same day!

That would be funny (if our vehicles arrived at the same time). It may happen. My car will have the black kidney grilles installed at the VPC. Not sure how this will impact transfer to the dealer.

Something to consider, a group of people (including me) from this forum will be taking part in the 5th annual Climb to the Clouds. It is a drive through the White Mtns plus the Mt. Washington Auto Rd. Details can be found on the 3-series/E9x board or www.climbtotheclouds.org. It's a great time for all.

Either from your CA/SA or by calling BMW NA. I can provide the phone number sometime tonight.
