The Official Climb to the Clouds Mount Washington Volunteer Snow Removal Crew was in action yesterday to make sure the road was clear in time for our event.

Professor Cook was off to a good start until he started making snow angels.

DSX had a few fireworks left from last Fourth of July and began blasting the snow out of the way.

I was busy at work but was able to send one of my interns to help out.

BJ showed up with a "StatusPlow".

He didn't actually plow any snow, he just sat in the parking lot and made the regular Mount Washington Auto Road crew so jealous they parked their plows and went home.

The crew will be back in action this weekend. Additional volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

The "Official Climb to the Clouds Volunteer Snow Removal Crew" was back at work yesterday.

Not much snow was removed but under the direction of ///M-Rated they built a real cool snow castle.

Eventually Professor Cook got tired of making snow angels and took over direction of the project,

Once we applied the proper principles of physics and engineering (and napalm) to the project it was amazing how effective we were at clearing snow (and vegetation) off of the mountain.

At the request of New Hampshire authorities we will be back again tomorrow to plant trees and stuff.

Also, word has reached me that thanks to the Professor's one-size-melts-all clearing method, we will not be getting stuck behind MWAR tour coaches this year.

Yes, the road is opening tomorow, Saturday at 9 a.m. but only to the 4.5 mile mark due to thick ice and up to 15 feet of snow over parts of the road. Then you have to turn around and go back down. That's basically just above the tree line, hardly seems worth it but there'll be a line to go up.
In previous C to C's there's always been snow, either in patches or in fields. This year, the climb being three weeks later there is unlikely to be any left. Of course it will be just a few days before July 4th...

Climb to the Clouds 5, June 29 in the White Mountains of NH

The Hotel Mount Washington and the Bretton Arms are sold out. I'm going to see if we can get rooms added to our block at The Lodge where there still may be rooms available.

There are rooms available at Carlson's Lodge (800-348-5502). Mention that you are with Bimmerfest Climb to the Clouds.
