My X3 production ends tomorrow. Hope to have it by Friday.

Had initially opted for performance center delivery but it was scheduled on May 16. Incidentally I just made a 4 day trip to Myrtle beach and drove through the beautiful smokey's and then via spartanburg.

Couldn't even think of driving the same route again in 2 weeks. 8hr drive to Indy. Cancelled my performance center delivery and opted for dealer delivery.

This is our first X3 and I know I'll be missing out the delivery experience. Oh well, I guess my next Z4 will be ED and PCD together.

Will do - pics coming tomorrow, with the exception of this one that I snagged while taking delivery...

edit: the pic was rotated wrong - here it is on imgur: http://imgur.com/9Zwxb6h

Couple of things I learned since taking delivery:

1) Make sure if you have an iPhone 5, you ask the dealer for the right cable. Now I have to go back again.

2) If you are new to the whole concept of keyless "comfortaccess" system, you might accidentally leave the stereo on in the driveway for about 20 minutes by mistake, thinking you shut the car off completely (not that I did that or anything... ). Note to self that pushing the start/stop with the foot off the brake turns on/off the accessories.

3) I will definitely get nav in the next BMW. I don't like the width of the iDrive screen relative to the space provided. The non-nav screen is too small for the space.

4) Mojave interior looks AWESOME with jet black. I was worried but I think it looks really good. Pics to come when it's not raining / dark.

Here is my New X3 M Sport Alpine White that I took a PCD on Apr 24th, 2013. Had a nice ride over the weekend to Nashville through the stormy weather, performed very well. Averaged around 25 MPG, Odometer now reads 902 miles.

Awesome.. Waiting for your pics!!

Had I known that the non-NAV X3's come with only half the screen, I would have definitely gotten it with Navigation. The screen does look bad given the amount of space. These are some of the CHEAP techniques employed by BMW to make customers buy their packages/products, but what they do not realize is that it eventually brings down the value/looks of the interior.

Well, its too late now. Anyways, glad to know that you like the Mojave interior

You are not alone...

I told my wife that I left it playing on purpose because the dog liked the tune that was playing

I do love the new instrument cluster when you select HUDs. My only gripe with that is how is the predicted reliability on that cluster, aka would i need to select the extended warranty for sure if i plan to order the new cluster and keep the vehicle for a while

Ordered mine on 4/13, Prod Started 4/24, SA emailed with arrival at dealer on 4/23.

2014 X3M
White with Black Pleather - skipped leather since I have 2 kids and didn't want to deal with caring for it.
DHP, Nav, Heated Front Seats, Park Distance Control, Rear Window Shades

Have to give a big recommendation to Greg Poland @ the Glendale dealer who made the buying process very easy.

pics - finally

Finally had some time to post these pics. Not the best quality, but they are something. I am loving the new car. Doing my first hand-wash today, as the pollen is too much to look at on the car.

I just hit 100 miles on the odometer last night. I can't wait until it's broken in and I can really play with sport mode and have some fun.

I just checked in the phone system and was told that my vehicle is "being transported to the port of exit". Does anybody know what the port of exit refer to? What should I expect to follow? I found my status did not go as what I saw here in this thread.

My status changes were:
in production -> body shop -> waiting to be released to the carrier -> was released to the carrier and waiting to be transported to the port of exit -> being transported to the port of exit.

Thanks a lot!

It means it is on the truck or train to get it to the port of exit if it is going on a boat, when you are on the east coast it just means it is on the truck to the dealer and should be 3-5 days to get there, mine still had that status when it was at the dealer.

Once it is on the truck it arrives FAST if you are on the East Coast or Mid West. Mine got put on the carrier July 1st and arrived at the dealer in Michigan on July 2nd.
