Black modern line F34 on the street

Parked on the street in Munich.

I'm not a fan of the modern line features, but these pictures give you a good idea of the GT's outside dimensions in comparison to other parked cars. It has a very elegant presence in my opinion.

I do think 3 GT is a better looking car than 5 GT. For it is the weight that really concerns me, judging the spec at this time, it should be ok.

5 gt looks better. The back of the 3gt looks like it's suspended too high making it look unstable and front end looks cheaper. The 5 is overall better proportioned and it's front has character.

I like them both principally for the fact that there is another GT in the stable. I was worried that the 5 GT would become an 'orphan' of sorts. I am considering the long-term possibility of settling on a 3 GT as a compromise choice once my wife and I downsize from a two Beemer to a one Beemer household once we are fully retired. She finds my 5 GT too large and loves her 335. I love my 5 GT and find her 335 fun to drive but a bit small and less practical. The 3 GT (with the 6 cylinder engine of course) looks to be a great compromise and definitely cheaper than a divorce lawyer.

Add an M package and a tune, for the days you drive alone!

What do you guys think of the 2014 F34 3 Series GT?

Bemo, I already ' have the tune' via a backup MP3 player with 175 songs or so but I will certainly keep the M option in mind. My wife would enjoy that too. I hope we don't fight about who gets to drive. I can only use the rationale 'You have had way too much Diet Coke to drive safely' a limited number of times after a restaurant meal that does not involve wine. As a matter of course, she won't drive after having some (usually a glass or two) as a safety precaution. If I have any it is always less. I guess I will always make sure has some. That too should be cheaper than that lawyer.

Fish23 -

Sounds good.

Our GT feels pretty bland until thrown into Sport+/Manual Mode. That's when it's most fun to drive it.

Enjoy either way and yes, avoid attorneys at all costs.

Wow! Can't believe how much bigger the F34 is than the F31! :o

I'd love to get a F31 335 but it seems I have to get a F34 if I want power too. Luckily the F34 is growing on me.

It is a little skinny tho. The X3, 5GT, XC60, Evoque, A7 etc are all 2-5 inches wider and IMHO, have a nicer stance. YMMV

Where those cars are made, the roads tend to be much narrower, and fuel costs a lot more...narrow cars are a benefit, not a deterrent. Even the GT isn't great for three people in the back. I'd have to wait to see and sit in one to determine if it might be a (lower cost) alternative when my 5GT needs to be replaced (hopefully, a long time away!).
