E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Question Help - Cigarette lighter no work - fuses are ok

Cigarette lighter isn't work. I have checked fuses, where all is ok.

I was going to come off cigarette lighter and check what is wrong in it, maybe repair or replace. But the question is where to begin to take away the parts that cigarette lighter socket sits in - Is it just 'cigarette tray'? or the middle - (to remove plastic parts)
- If it would have been burn broken in the socket in hint of cigarette lighter. How will I repair and exchange cable and so...

Anyone know? And explain...?

Thank you.

I had a similar issue, different vehicle. Cigarette lighter didn't work but other accessories did. So outlet was fine. What I figured out was the 2 metal pieces that hold down the actual lighter if that's what you're referring to, got loose so it wouldn't hold the lighter tight enough. This was due to consistent use of other accessories wider than the original cigarette lighter. Try pushing those back toward the center a little.
