Excessive movement in drive-line

I think I know what cause my shudder during high speed braking. I just happened to notice the stick shift moved forward kind of excessive during hard braking, definitely not normal when compares to my other Bimmers.

The engine and tranny mounts have just been replaced last year. What do you guys think which components would cause such excessive movement in the drive-line?

Could be warped brake rotors or your balancing weights came off your wheels. Similar thing happened to me. I replaced rotors and balanced wheels, now its like driving on glass.

Did you notice your stick shift kind move forward excessively when hard braking before you have resolved with rotors and balance?

I have an auto so I wouldnt know. But one of those fixes cured my shutter in the car drastically. Because it use to feel like I was driving a civic but now Im driving my original Bimmer again haha.

Maybe in your case it is but mine I can go 100 MPH and it's still smooth but as soon as I hit the brake while above 75 MPH it will start to shudder.

If your rotors and tires aren't balance you will get vibration even without hitting the brake at high speed.

In a normal case of shudder that is a good guess but in this case what do thrust arms have any thing to do with the drive-line move forward when brake is hit under high speed.

Who did your engine and tranny mounts? What did you replace them with? My first guess is something might have come loose. Brake judder alone shouldn't cause your driveline to shake.

I did them with OEM manufacture. And thanks for confirming that brake judder should effect my drive-line to move forward.

I plan to replace the CV and Center bearing, I think one of these is the culprit.

I bet the springs in the dual mass flywheel are shot. I swear mine are.

When your in stop and go traffic and your on the gas off the gass on the gas off the gas does it feel like the clutch is releasing jerking when you push the pedal?
I did motor motor and trans mounts, diff mounts, subframe to body mounts, , new d/s and c/v and still have this problem but there is nothing left to replace. I think the dualmass flywheel is slopping back and forth in my car. No idea if its original but a good excuse to go lwfw

Topaz, at 143K miles my clutch is still nice and smooth no complain whatsoever, it slips when I'm on it with S/C but there's no evidence of any kind of clunk.
