528i Wagon Help Needed. MAF not reading

Ok so long story short I bought this wagon shifting hard, found trannys available for $500 and went ahead and swapped one in figured quick fix?
But it still runs and drives the same, I ran the codes and it was throwing Mass Air P0101 and has the sign on the dash for transmission limp mode
Next I try a new mass air sensor - no luck

Upon further investigation (and a little research) I found out the last person to work on this car switched the alternator plug and the mass airflow plug

I returned the plugs to their proper places, reset the codes with a scanner, and reset the battery

Still the same results, throwing a constant cel for mass air and instantly going into limp mode

Any help is appreciated, not sure what to try next - already inspected for vaccuum leaks but figure it might be a computer issue or wiring since as soon as the cel is erased it comes back?

Thanks!!

If the plugs were swaped--wouldn't the plug from the alt be sending current into the OBC . It might have burnt that circut up--or if your lucky --you may have a fuse blown. The Maf will help the way the tranny shifts
