Shifter trim replacement

I've got a scratch in the soft trim that covers the drive select area, so basically the plate that covers the bottom shifter area. From what I've found it's connected to the shifter leather, and have the removal steps from another thread, but can't seem to find where to order a replacement from.

It's a minor scratch/ chip, but it's noticable and I'm super picky about that sort of think. Not even sure how it happened, I think my EZ pass fell on it. If anyone can point me in the right direction, my thanks. I'll post a pic later if necessary.

It looks like part number 51167009314 or the non SMG number 13 here.
It's a pricey part. I searched and it looks like this.
They have no more, but I did see on ebay one or two.

Hopefully that's the part you were referring to.

Awesome, thanks man. Was looking all over and couldn't find it!

$100 bucks is about what I expected, just have to see how it comes apart before pulling the trigger. Pretty sure the leather boot is attached. That soft trim is a pain. Peals, chips, than it's black underneath, just looks terrible if you drop anything on it.

You could wrap it with some carbon fiber wrap?

I've replaced that part before

I replaced that part myself. It just snaps down into place.
The boot attaches to the underside of the plastic part. It took 5 min. to install

I didn't like the look of the plain black plastic so I covered it in carbon fiber wrap along with a few other parts.

Just be careful when you are popping the inside cover because you may scratch it. I attached some pics.

Takes a little xacto knife, hair dryer and patience.

Carbon fiber is a viable option. Since I just got a peal near my passenger side window switch!

Probably going that road, going to order some wrap and look up the panel removal threads tonight. The only problem I can see is the shift lights on the base, might look sloppy if there is no way to go from the inside under the clear area by the select area.

btw really clean job ragin, looks great. Do you have an M6, if not, where you get the decal? Have a couple of other random scratchs I'd like to cover up with some badges.

Thanks. All you need is really sharp nice and some patience. I also did my steering wheel and my glove box trim. I added some more pics.

No wish I did. My baby is a 2010 650i and I got lucky found her with only 3300 miles with every factory option. The chrome M badges I found on ebay and I know it's not the right thing to do on a non M car but I couldn't resist.

Tried the carbon fiber wrap today, not going to fly. The 05 has the select on the trim itself not on the shifter. That housing cannot be removed, so it will never look clean.

Annoying, had the whole thing taken apart and wrapped, but it just kept coming out not perfect. In the process it took more of the soft trim off, so looks like I'm just going to have go the replacement route.
