did you not read the part where the guy said he went to his FRIENDS shop. I can go to my grandpas construction shop and he can do it for me for 40 bucks too! probably even cheaper if I actually was desperare enough. but can I ask you this? did you gain any useful knowledge from taking your car to a shop and sitting in a waiting room reading the nearest auto magazine? when I tried to get my muffler cut the local shop said theyd only delete my resonator. and for 100. now your telling me if I were to walk into this guys friends muffler shop I coud get my mufflers cut off for 40$ you wish..

It sounds like your taking this personally. Some of us prefere a professional to do certain things. In my case, i have welding experience but no access to a lift and no welding equipment. I could have done this myself but i chose not to. Im a a mechanic and have experience about multiple things on various makes and models. In the case of exhaust work; personally, i simply prefer to go to someone that does this daily. In the case of the OP of this thread, it is possible that his friend showed him and taught what he needs to know for future refernce. I understand you have your own opinion on this subject but its rather rude to be so judgemental. The tone of your post isnt very frendly. Just my opinion.

I'm a truck driver and i don't really have the time to spend around working on my car...i do what i can... so don't get ur panties in a bunch.. relax :-) oh and it was 30 and i gave him a 10 tip so 40 in all... el paso has great deals..

you know I have been thinking of going straight pipe, and reading this thread is so not helping with that. I love the sound the car makes now, and think that it would sound GREAT with no mufflers. grrrrr merph. My GF is kind of against it, and I am not sure how I would feel having a loud BMW (no cats)

What sound? Lol. Our cars are silent with the design of the exhaust system. The best part of a delete is if u dont like it, put yiur mufflers back on. Easy peasy.
