Looking an M3

Hey all, I am new to this forum, but I could really use some advice on buying a 2009 M3 coupe. I spotted one online that I might be interested in. It's advertised as having been modded. With Dinan certified (additions intake, exhaust, gear pulley and computer). Under 30k miles. Does any body have any idea what the current value of those mods would be? I want to make an offer but need a sense of the value of those mods, before making offer. Any thoughts? Your help will be truly appreciated! Charlee01

You can get the prices from dinancars.com. Roughly, you are looking at a little over $4k list (not including installation costs). Currently value is hard to place...some people says mods don't add anything...I sold my fully loaded 2008 6MT e90 with 29k miles last December for $38k and I had about 6k in Dinan mods (not including labor). I basically got nothing for them. I had the car online in many classified and ebay for 3 months and that's the best I could do...

Appreciate your feedback! That really helps. I think the seller wants to recover some of his costs on this, also the car is advertised as having an extended warranty through BMW for up to75 k miles. Do you know if Dinan honors this warranty in regard,to the added mods?

That's a good question. I think Dinan only covers the original mfr's warranty. You might just call them and ask.

Warranty

Just FYI, just talked with Dinan, they basically cover for their parts up to 50K or 4 years. the gentleman indicated that they also offer there own extended warranty. So if it is determined by BMW warranty people that something broke as a result of a Dinan mod, Dinan will be responsible for the fix up to 50k or 4 years. Extended warranties after that may or may not cover anything and may actually void the warranty. Kind of a tricky area. Sounds like I need to talk to the extended warranty company to make sure Dinan mods don't void extended warranty after 50k . Thanks again, I'll most likely be back asking another question.
