Daten v49.3 is out but looks like no changes again for e70 except if you use WinKFP.

what is winkfp for ?

by the way I am looking into the dvd in motion coding and I see you need to for with data2txt tool

does anybody have a good link to explain how it is done.

So far I understand how to read and write module with ncsexper and the FSW_PSW.PRC

But when if comes to open file with data2txt, I have no idea where to start

This thread reminds me why I decided to just have my car remote coded! Although, nice to see those who actually want to do the work themselves helping others out.

Ok, today I did read all modules available and while reading one I've got same big 4x4 warning on the screen that philooo had with initial attempt, it gone in like 15-20 sec and never appeared again...

Next read out after I got my car back after programming.

slevit1, you right that it easier to let somebody do it and pay for that but we don't do it to save money (nobody says how much it cost so I assume it's more then even good cable cost), you know, I'm doing it to feel that proud and joy that I did it by myself! Nothing compares to that. I started working on my prev BMW (e39) after another problem I've got and SA gave me this: we don't know what's wrong, but let's first try fuel pump and filter, it will cost you $1600, I left right away (it was fuel pump, I did it in 30 min and spent $70).

Ok, car in dealer for hitch. Got a dead battery today at the morning (light were on from 6pm yeasterday, neighbor told me they knocked our door to let us know but we didn't open) but after jump start from AAA everything back to normal. Damn, I was scared after I tried to run and got whole lot of errors like Airbag problem, Parking break problem all that stuff, thanks God I"ve read about it and after initial shock I realized it was just battery

Anyway, dealer offered to change brakes that due in 3K while still under warranty (ends in 1.5K) so I decided why not Tomorrow will get it back and read all modules and report back.

Thanks!

Ok, got my car back on Friday and made that read out one more time.

Looks like except adding new AHM module not much of changes in other modules. In my case lot of my old coding still was in place so they did no code whole car, but I think few more modules (like FRM and PDC module) were updated as well. I need to do little bit more of checking prior to posting results as I have some of my coding there... Will post it as soon as I can.
I did not get that zoom feature from dealer but I did code it by mylsef and it works just fine.

Thanks!

Vetal,

I can't wait to hear your final conclusion, send us picture of the coding for the hitch zoom I also want to implement this and I don't have the proper module and code so far.
I will be installing my own hitch and try to code it myself.

Phil

Hi, just doing my research before I join the coding world, for the E70 are the V49 daten files different to other V49 daten files as I can't seem to find any specific to the E70.

Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Daten files is the set for all chasis usually, it comes as archive and it has lots of subfolders with all different chasis and E70 one of it.

Try this forum from UK auto-professionals_co_uk (replace underscores with .) Since you are in UK you will find it quick helpfull with lots of good info about daten (lates as well).

Yes, you always need to start with XX.0 as all those XX.(1,2...) are updates to main release and contains just updated files and very often you will not find you chasis there at all.
So if you need to be consistent, get 49.0, then all 49.1, 49.2 (no E70 here), 49.3.

Hope this helps!

Ok guys, finally get some time to analyze those TRC before and after.
As usual, this is for your information, I will not hold any responsibility if you brake your car based on this info, you do all at your own risk.

So, here's what was changed (New module AHM was added, i think you will get it after changing VO so I don't post it):

Changes in Vehicle Order
Before: -B090
After : -A090+AHMU

Changes in whole car TRC
KLASSE_BATTERIE
Before: 90ah
After : 90ah_agm

ANHAENGERKUPPLUNG
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

AHM_APPL_MONITOR
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

SBS_I_CPAR_AHKUPP03
Before: wert_01
After : wert_02

ICMKOD_B_S3ACA
Before: wert_01
After : wert_02

AHK_OFFSET
Before: offset_0
After : offset_1

AHK_AUSBLENDUNG
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

Changes by Module
CAS(these ones probably not related to hitch)
VER_AUT_X_MIN_SENDER_2
Before: aktiv
After : nicht_aktiv
KLASSE_BATTERIE
Before: 90ah
After : 90ah_agm

CIC (these ones probably not related to hitch)
DATACOM_TRANSFER
Before: most_high
After : mamac
SOFTWARE_UPDATE_MANAGER
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

FRM
Those added, no in Before
LWR_STROM_HALT
wert_01
LWR_STROM_NORMAL
wert_01
LWR_STROM_RAMPE
wert_01

KOMBI
AHM_APPL_MONITOR
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

RPDC
ANHAENGERKUPPLUNG
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

AHK_OFFSET
Before: offset_0
After : offset_1
AHK_AUSBLENDUNG
Before: nicht_aktiv
After : aktiv

Also, as this was already posted by blue dragon, to get ZOOM feature you need to do this:
CIC
MACRO_TRAILER_COUPLING
change to aktiv
Zoom works as soon as you switch to R and use camera, it will be last icon on the screen.

Hopefully this will help you guys.

I have now purchased the proper lead from one-stop-electronics.com so just need to wait for that arrive, I found the full V49 but its taking some downloading as its 41 seperate files !!

I also installed the BMW standard tool on my laptop and followed the setup but I'm also missing the OBDsetup.exe file, can anyone help with this?

Yea and funny thing that you actually don't need all that files except one folder for your chasis... I was asking owner to split files and upload by chasis but was denied

About the obdsetup.exe file.
I manage to code my car without that file.

I think the file obdsetup.exe is only an assistant making sure you that have the right communication port setup.

to verify you are good to go, go to your device manager and check which is the com port number that has the 'usb' connected to

then in the obd.ini file (I forgot exactly where it is, but you'll find it easily, there is only one), make sure that is the port number you have in there.
Also make sure you have the proper latency setup (lowest setting if i recall).

Phil

For some reason Inpa 5.0.2 doesn't see my engine module from E70 35d 2010 (with CIC). It, however, see other modules. Simple OBD DCAN cable from Ebay.
Any ideas why this may happen?

- overwrite your ncsexpert.exe file to avoid to have to enter a password
- replace your C:\NCSEXPER\BIN and C:\NCSEXPER\CFGDAT
- replace your C:\NCSEXPER\BIN\ncsexpert.ini
