HUD Display still not Bright even with BMW windshield

I had my windshield replaced at my favorite body shop and when I picked it up the HUD only would show up when it was dark out... I Took it back in and they installed a BMW windshield made for the HUD but once again the HUD almost disappears when there is any sunlight... I checked with BMW and the gave me the correct part number for the windshield and said that was the one they sold the body shop but I'm unable to confirm due to there not being a model number on the windshield... Is there any way to confirm that it is the correct windshield by the markings on it... Has anyone else had this problem... The HUD worked perfect with the old windshield... BMW and and I have both adjusted the brightness and location settings and nothing helps

If you take anotherr car on the lot with hud, and put a mirror over it so you can see it, is yours the SAME brightness? Not settings, not software- directly compare the output of your car to a known good car....

If yes, then the glass is wrong.

HUD Display still not Bright even with BMW windshield

A Bmw windshield has multiple options depending on what year and make It is. It is rare when the part number is on the windshield that comes directly from the dealership. Part number are usually stamped on after market glass.

I work with glass and also install automotive glass. (Parents own the company)

Some windshields come defective. Usually a windshield that has multiple options. And if you get one installed with one missing option then theres a possibilty that there can be a malfunction in your system.

Usually a car comes with:
Hud Option.
Wiper Park Defroster.
Rain Sensor.
Elecrochromatic mirror
Solar.
Etc.

All kinds of stuff. Different vehicles have diffrent windshields.

The dealership should have checked your Vin # since they can see all the installed packages that where installed in your vehicle. And they should be able to match the windshield part number with your vehicle.

HUD Display still not Bright even with BMW windshield

Third windshield from BMW and still have brightness problem... Noticed my headlights do not go off even in bright daylight in auto mode so now I'm thinking they installed the wrong sensor on windshield... I wish I just would have kept my old windshield

Could it be the car is thinking it is always night? The HUD would be projected with a lower brightness at night, and the lights would always think it is night.

Could be glass, a sensor or a wire/connector/harness that they messed up on install...
