I'm hard pressed to trade our 06 for 14 but it's tempting. Would be Alpine with Chestnut.
Who got rid of their older X3's for new one. Do you like it more or does it do nothing for you. The styling is beautifully done. Thanks for any comments. Frank

The 2nd gen X3 is certainly a lot more comfortable than the 1st gen, also with that comfort, the handling is softer. Design wise, its a much better looking SUV. We got our X3 35i for about invoice price, which is 8% off msrp. We found it off the dealer's stock. If you are ordering, expect to pay a few hundreds more. Sounds like your dealer is not playing ball with you. $2000 off a $51000 car is less than 4% off, add in the $2500 less in your trade in, you guys are paying $4500 than you should.

Hi Frank,

We recently traded in our 09 x3 with 32,000 kilometres on a 2013 Msport, white with what in Canada is called red/brown interior ( I think that's the same a your chestnut) it is a great couloir combo. We also have the aluminum trim interior..

I can tell you that we love the 2013, it is everything that the 09 wasn't. I find that it handles better, amazing torque, and the same gas mileage. The technology is leaps and bounds ahead of the prior model as well.. That being said, it's not perfect, but it's still pretty great stuff..

We have

Msport
Executive package
Premium package
Technology package
Heads up display
Lane departure warning (be warned that you cannot have this with the heated steering wheel) that was disappointing).

We have only put 1000 kilometres on so far....

Hope this helps..

Brett

I ended up a little over 6% off MSRP but I walked away from my local dealer to get it. I ended up buying 400 miles from home for the same deal I offered locally.

Tell them to improve their price or you'll buy elsewhere. Some dealers don't understand the Internet has changed the car buying market from local to regional and to some extent national.

The 6% also excluded additional rebates I got.

Thanks Bimmer. I'm getting quotes from every dealer within a 2 hour ride.
I would take the BMW to my local dealer for service. Does BMW provide loaners regardless if the X was purchased from them? Anyone know?

The F25 is just better in every way - the E83 was based on the E46 platform, so was already old the first year the x3 came out. The way I look at it was the E83 was a first effort, the F25 was the first x3 to get it right.

Loaner car policy differ from dealer to dealer, but if the service department wants your business, they will provide you with a loaner. Some sales guys will tell you otherwise to close the deal. The sales department is a different entity from the service department, the loaners you get from the sales department are from the sales department's demo fleet, not from the service department's loaner fleet.

+1^ However don't confuse the "demos" from the Sales Department with the "Loaners" from the Service department -- both are different. That said however you might find some dealers intermix them a bit. The loaners in this area usually have a decal on the back window mentioning something like Courtesy Car from Dealers Name while the demos have nothing back there I guess to make them seem like normal "inventory" -- which of course they actually are. In any case getting a loaner depends on the dealer's service department policy and (as said above) if they want your business.

I buy mine at one dealer and service it there sometimes and more often at a closer dealer, never had an issue getting a loaner even though I bought the car elsewhere!

I did get a better quote from a different dealer. Whoever gives the best price and it's substantial I'm buying from them.

I did get a better quote from a different dealer. Whoever gives the best price and it's substantial I'm buying from them. I'm not taking any figures back to the the local dealership. I do not do business like that. So far the price I got today is better by close to a Thousand.
Do you guys get the sales tax deduction from the value of the trade in?

Sales tax deduction Yes.
I did get another quote with close to $3700 off. Things are changing. Pays to shop ...MSRP less 7%

Not sure how much your car is worth or the Ohio sales tax rate, but you will be losing about $1000 in trade in tax credit by selling the old X3 to your cousin and all the possible ill feelings that might come with it. It is also my policy to never sell a car to any family or friends. 7% off is a good price, it definitely pay to shop around. Good Luck

I traded in a 2009 E83 that was in great shape - 45000 miles for a 2013 F25 MSport.... no comparison as far as performance, comfort and gizmos PLUS decent cupholders !

Our 06 is sold. I'm having it inspected first to make sure everything is ok with it. (brakes, suspension, etc.)
WHITEX might become RED-X. I like the Red with Chestnut or Oyster. Considering the M-sport also. Might place the order this week. Thanks again for the replies and support. To be continued.

I think that would put you below invoice. Which is possible of course. But I wanted to clarify before I go looking for the same great deal. Was that on a 2014? no trade-in? no mark-up on the lease or finance rate? no documentation fees? no other incentives included?

No M. 35i yes.
My wife prefers the non M and standard sound system. I could get both or live without them.
