Rust on Break Calipers

Does anybody have this problem? I have small rust showing on the outer side of the caliper and it looks ugly on M Wheels..... Wondering if there are colored calipers available.
Appreciate your response on it.

I just had the outer plates on my front rotors replaced under warranty. They did look horrible with the M Sport wheels.

Just asked to have them replaced and they didn't give me any flack. I have read several places that painting your calipers will void and warranty claim to do with your brakes.

The thing is my rears are worse, do you think they will replace the calipers due to the rusty calipers?

I'm not sure about the rears, that should be the whole caliper, I would definitely demand new calipers, rust on the caliper should not happen in my option

Rust on Break Calipers

On my bMW e53 X5 2006, I have corroded calipers, which owners replace later with coloured versions, even ceramic ones which are rust free, but they're expensive!

BMW will not replace any parts under warranty if they are still functioning parts. Warranty does not cover replacement of visible parts for cosmetic reasons. However, if you're nice and you have spent a lot of money on your new or used BMW, the dealer might do something special for you. I would state the case very clearly. I know what you mean, corroded calipers look age the car and look ugly. See if you can have them upgraded to colour versions at a special price or for free, on the premise that BMW cars are expensive to buy and I didn't expect to see rusty calipers showing like a sore thumb through my M wheels!

Calipers price guide: $350US each and ceramic about $560US

Rust on Break Calipers

Just get them painted; problem solved and it'll actually look better (more complete IMO). I had my wife's color matched AW and they look clean.

Mine were rusted as well. At those MSRP you think you get better quality calipers.

I just pained mine black. Sorted.

UPDATE:
my dealer offered me a one time good will to refinish all 4 calipers and the SA said they are powder coated silver. BMW paid for the job and he confirmed it is not going to void the warranty.

Out of all the well thought out things on this car, they really left us with some ugly, crude brake calipers. They left it to look very mechanical and raw. I can tolerate it, but any sign of rust and all bets are off.
