Red face Weird Squealing Sounds from Front End

Ok, here's the situation...I've had my 05' 545i for a little over a year now. When I bought it, the brakes had been recently replaced. Three months later, I got the "service brakes" message so I took it to BMW - they checked the brakes - nothing wrong. They cleared the code and that was that. It never came back on and my brakes work fine as it always had.

About two months ago I noticed some squealing sounds coming from the driver's side front end. My first thought was "brakes"...but I later realized that the sound happens when I'm in motion not really when I apply the brakes. It occurs during low speed and when reversing. When moving forward, it sounds like squeaking brakes - and when reversing there's a rough sound as if something is caught up under my wheel well.

The crazy part is that this comes and goes at will. I can drive for two weeks and get nothing, then all the sudden today it occurs in the morning, but by the time I reached my destination it had stopped. I don't know what to make of it.

I plan on taking her to BMW next week...I live 50 min from the nearest one in Charlotte NC, so I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions before I make the exodus to Charlotte.
