2002 M3 oil leak under oil filter housing unit

Have oil leak under oil filter housing unit ! 2002 M3 - replaced gasket , cleaned engine , drove 30 miles to burn off cleaner, then put car back on lift only to find it was leaking again! Mechanic said to bring it back and will tear down; seems leak is somewhere between bottom of oil filter housing and alternator ! Help !

unfortunately, finding the source of oil leak can be like diagnosing abdominal pain in a woman of child bearing age.

i would say try to clean up the area as best you can and have the car running at idle. see if you can find the source that way.

it is going to be tough for anyone on here to help w/o pics with good resolution.
