Central Locking - Please Help

My central locking is only working on the two rear doors with the key/remote for unlocking and locking.

I have to unlock the front doors manually.

Any idea why this could be?

Many thanks for assistance

I have a 2001 X5 4.4i

Thanks for the response. What does that mean? A replacement or can it be fixed.

It located behind the glove box. When you press the lock/unlock in the car is it ok ? If internal lock/unlock button facing same problem with your remote then very high chances is general module failed.

Thank you very much. I located it and quickly took it out an opened it. Just some electronics inside that I know nothing about.

The internal lock works fine inside the car but only locks / unlocks the two rear doors (plus the boot and the petrol cap. The drivers door must be locked/unlocked with the key, and the passenger's door does not have a lock. Must open it from the inside.

How about you press the master lock button ? It is master lock button able to lock/unlock all doors ? If master lock button not able to do this sure general module has problem but dont forget to check the door actuator as well.

I made contact with Scott Johnson and he does not think it is the GM. He also suggested that I look at door actuators.
