X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

Question Surging Cruise Control

This might fall into the category of picky, but it has become increasingly annoying, like the a dripping faucet.

Rather than provide a consistent speed at 79 mph, the cruise control tends to come on and then off and then on and then off. Like taking your foot off the peddle, then on, then off. It creates a subtle surging feeling and is so annoying. \

Is this the way it is? Are others experiencing this? I am taking it in for normal service next week and will ask them to take a look, but don't want to be nasty about it, if its just the way they made the unit.

Surging Cruise Control

I use cruise every day for two speed trap zones - one at 25mph and the other at 35mph. Mine stays right on with no surging or variances on even terrain...
