Will probably require a bit of modding, and not sure if it's actually this simple, but find the wires from the angel eyes and connect them instead to the DRL light wires. This may throw out an error code though on your dash, and you might also lose your high-beams.

It has to be possible, but if worse comes to worse just install a button and either hide it or somehow make it look factory installed.

Did you try to explore INPA/DIS to try to find a standard solution?

I think only original options should be applied to BMW and no aftermarked or non standard buttons/gadgets

BMW X5 Angel Eyes

check bmwcoding
there is a way to code angel eyes as only side markers (sides still function as blinkers) and angel eyes as blinkers nothing for them to just turn on when the car is on with coding. all u need to do is flip the switch one position clockwise to get the AE to turn on... i don't see the big deal.

wouldn't turning the switch also turn on your license plate lights as well as your tail lights?

Bulb type

Hi, Just picked up an 2004 4.8 and would like to upgrade the bulb. Is it as simple as just replacing the bulb with an LED version or is there some type of upgrade required? If its just switching the bulb, what brand/# did you select? Looks great BTW

It's just switching the bulbs and I bought them from the eBay store for about $70....
