Z3 Subwoofer. help for a purist

I've been lurking and reading for three days trying to find a replacement speaker for the sub woofer in my car. Any help would be appreciated. I am uninterested in any sort of upgrade or anything that would turn my classic into a molested car. Interested in restoration parts only.

I only know that the speaker I need is between 4 and 5 inches and is housed in a plastic box that also contains a dummy speaker. It also has dual coils I presume because of the four wires connected to it.

Don't flame me. I plan on showing this car someday and want it original.

Thanks in advance.
S.

Near the top of the page, on the right, is a button labeled "Search This Forum." Click that and search for "subwoofer" and you will find much advice.

Luckily you have the more desirable single-speaker subwoofer. The only known replacement is the Kicker ComptVT65, but you will have to do a little grinding on it to get it to fit. If you want to keep everything original, you will have to look for used parts, but most of those have also already failed.
