Question 2003 745I Please HELP ME

Hello there I am new to this forum...

First of all I just bought a sliver BMW 745I with 70k miles on it. I love the car its the best BMW ever made in my eyes. But my I have a few issues with it...

1. First of all when I listen to music, I'll be listening for like 2mins and then it stops for a sec and starts playing again but at the smallest volume. It keeps doing that and i don't know what to do...any ideas guys??

2. My headlights are fogged up and i ve tried several times to unclear them. They are better now since i been using some creams from autozone....any ideas?

3. And lastly I have no navigation...gps. There is no CD in the trunk so I think i ll be good if i just buy the CD.

4. I have to change the ball joint, tire rod and get an alignment done friday. its guna cost around $1,145.00 dollars... Is this normal for these cars??

Check out Rockauto.com for parts. Ball joints are around $20 each and tie rods are $40 each.

A "few issues"?

You clearly haven't owned it long enough. LOL

For the headlights, try this: http://www.wipenew.com/

Amazing stuff for all of your car, but it also comes with specific instructions and pads to do headlights.

ps your whole music issue, get the cd in and see if that reset and low volume issue stops. it did when i first bought mine with a bad cd and with no cd.
i ended up just upgrading to a dvd nav unit and newer year dvd.

also,
no sensors for tie rods its very easy. watch a couple youtube videos about tie rod end replacement. its the same thing on our car more or less.

Thanks for the help. I will try to do that my self. I tried to remove the CD and it doesn't happen on the radio. But it always happens when i play CD's even if there brand new ones. Also for the headlight I'm not sure what to do.....

if its not happening any other time except playing cds could be faulty ask or cd changer depends what youre using to play the cd. are you 100% its only happening when you play cds? is it the cd changer or the main cd player in the center dash below climate control? does your car even have a 6 disc changer?

I just checked and CDs work fine the in the 8 disc changer. But for some odd reason the main one in the middle console keeps pausing. Doesnt matter at least music works in the other. Now I plan on restoring my headlights tommorrow at a shop. Also Im going to BMW to get my oil change and alignment done. After that Im going to order the ball joint and tire rod for the drivers front tire and install it. After that I'm free and done)) I LOVE THIS CAR SO MUCH. THANKS FOR THE HELP EVERYONE!!!

Won't you have to get another alignment done after the tie rod and ball joint replacement? If that's the case, wait on the alignment.

yeah wait to get an alignment after tie rod replacement, getting an alignment before isn't gonna help until then because the alignment will never be that great with worn suspension parts in the first place.
edit:
something in your most loop is toast, youre going to have to diagnose it; to figure out which of the many modules is cutting out and making the network reset every so often.
you need to get your headlights restored ie sanded polished sealed maybe even opened these headlights have a bad rep for inside fading and opening them isn't for the faint of heart. only easy solution but expensive is new head lamps. that is of course if it is inside. i busted mines open when i had it but it scared the crap out of me every step of the way cutting it open

Are your headlights fogged from the inside? That is a big issue with these cars. I had to go INSIDE my headlight lens and clean - now they look brand new. Other people have done this with terrific results. Do a search on headlight cleaning for more info...

Yeah I decided I was going to polish mine then realized its all on the inside. Any DIY tips on how to get inside, cause the last thing I wanna do is break an 1100 dollar headlight

There's a thread on how a member used a magnet wrapped in a cleaner soaked cloth with a string,
inserted it thru the high beam bulb opening, and another magnet on the outside in a cloth and did the dual action and if you're wondering why the string... well The string is to pull the magnet back out of the headlight housing

Something like that.. Lol search keywords

Headlight cleaning
Headlight
Foggy headlight

Dude why go to a Stealership and get an oil and alignment? It cost about $250-$300 just for an oil change there!
