Anyone have experience with Hellst XRT H8 Angel Eyes??

Hello-

Just wondering if any of you have experience with the Hellst XRT H8 Angel Eyes as opposed to LUX Angel Eyes? Opinions?

Thanks much!

Hello Cigarman!

I do have experience with both the LUX V3 and the Hellst XRT's.

I currently have LUX on my M3 and my wife's 335xi, and just installed the Hellst's on my '07 X5.

Side by side, the Hellst are a brighter bulb and this was confirmed by two other BMW owners when they stopped by to take a look at the X5. Unfortunately I don't have an SLR camera to take high quality pictures of the two different models side by side.

Given the price point of the Hellst vs. the LUX, and the 2 year warranty for the Hellst, for me it was a no brainer to have ordered the Hellst for the X5. Regrets? None at all.

I hope this helps you!

Mike

Install was a joke compared to the tight confines of the E92 and E90. ~5 minutes a side for the X5.

Thanks!!

I understand that installing them in an X5 is easy, but how about a 2011 X6.......same level of ease?

Thanks!

Hello Cigarman1964,

I've done a few X6's and they are very easy to do...access is good and if you look through the front of the headlight with the Hellst XRT's lit up as you are installing them, you can see how they are to fit into the socket.

Here is a photo of an X6 with the Hellst XRT's installed.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ross

Hello cigarman1964,

The GP Thunder 7500K are a pretty common replacement bulb for the fog lights to better match the Hellst XRT's.

Nice change of appearance on your X6 with the Hellst XRT's installed!

Here is feedback from a customer from Australia who recently purchased and installed the Hellst XRT's in his 3 Series Coupe. Note his comments on "no flickering" as this is common with the LUX products and check out the before and after photo showing the difference between stock halogens and the Hellst XRT.

At $145/set, these are the best value on the market for premium BMW LED lighting. Order yours at www.bimmereyes.com

Hey Ross,

Great news! I managed to replace the bulbs this morning, the headlight housing is much smaller than it looked on the pictures and videos! gosh they are right when they said you'll need a small hand LOL. Even pulling the bulbs out was a challenge for my big hands...

Very happy with the upgrade! I haven't had so much fun working on a car since I had my skyline 3 years ago! I've attached a couple of before / after pics, looks like there's plenty of room in the housing for the ballast/resistor.

The new Hellst LED has a good startup and shutdown look with the right dimming, I was worried that it might flicker or give a sudden on and off look but nope, it comes up nicely and dimms before it shut down. Although the picture shows some light bleeding but in real life you can see the 4 rings individually so it's really good.

Thanks again for all the pre-sales help and fast shipping, feel free to post this in the forums

From a happy customer,

Martin @ Sydney Australia.

Bought these Hellst XRT H8 LED Angel Eye from BimmerEyes for my X5M. I have seen some other LEDs but this is the brightest of them all! Expected installation time is less than 10 minutes but I took a little longer because of my big hands. The package came with accurate installation instructions. Ross@BimmerEyes was prompt to respond to my emails and shipped almost instantly!

There are three corners in the BMW light socket insert which are of different size so make sure you look at your old yellow bulbs and align the new LEDs the same way..I found this to be the fastest way of installing the lights.

The yellow halogens looked dirty with my LED fog lamps but now the truck looks perfect
