E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

BMW Maintenance Free?

Well not really, but I certainly like having it. The main reason is I know nothing about servicing a BMW, since my last one was a 1970 2002 bought new!

I figure most of you aren't familiar with Mercedes. The SLK is a dream to service. The oil is pumped out through the dip stick and the oil filter is on top of the engine! Also I was easily able to put a set of Akebono Euro dustless metallic pads on it.

The BMW doesn't have a dip stick, and I don't have a clue where the filter or drain plug is at. Akebono doesn't even list a set of pads for the 135. I don't know if my life can withstand all of this added stress!

I like my new 135i. The sport seats make it a very comfortable car to drive. My previous car, 2006 MX-5, was beating me to death!

I assume you are aware that all BMW recommended maintenance is free during the warranty period. See your Service/Warranty manual for particulars.

Being free is a fiction. You do know that its cost is in the price of the car?
