Granted, I did drive a Ford tractor with an 8' mower deck, but still! April was essentially mow month.

no thanks, it won't fit the M bumper, I'm pretty sure. Plus i have the stupid not so inexpensive plate bracket now. I'm more or less at the point where I *should* be saving for another bumper cover.

You sound like my so-rich-he's-slightly-detached-from-reality-manager.

"How was your weekend?"

"Pretty good, spent all weekend polishing my girlfriend's car"

"...can't you just pay someone for that?"

"....um, if you pay me more?"

That reminds me I need to deal with my backyard this weekend. "Mowing" with a weedwhacker is not fun, I don't get the point of a 100sq-ft lawn, couldn't they have just put in a patio?

I'm hoping there's some really good, strong coffee at work.

Actually, eff that, maybe I'll just hit a Starbucks when I get off the train, and then repeatedly every hour. So damn tired. Have to go offsite two different times today for testing, I'm sure that won't affect my daily work any. I also have serious doubts about the testing working as expected.

They were trying to cut the scope of my system test so far back as to completely make the test worthless. I looked at the PM and said "I can't control the scope, so if your boss is going to cut it back that far, fine, but I can tell you right now based on that scope it will be a Fail for our business unit and I don't see a point in me even going in to test, I can just sign the test sheet as a fail now." Our system happens to be a top priority critical system, so we spent 2 hours running around yesterday trying to bring everything back in scope.

Got home at like 10 last night, was a lot of fun trying to make my 5.50am train today....

Edit, Joey, twas a joke. Kind of. For acreage like that I know it'd be impractical to call a service. I think the majority of people out here have gardening services though, not many want to fool with a lawn after a long and hectic week, and especially out here many people work 6-7 days too, so who has time to trim bushes and cut grass? I keep trying to do it myself, and now that I have some better equipment I might hold out longer, but at the last house I gave in and called a gardener. It's not that expensive for a big improvement in sanity.

Jon, I might be interested in the plate holder.

Starbucks sounds delicious.

So does bacon. NOTHING smells better than bacon cooking. Not even steak.
People are ridiculed for not wanting to waste time on their hard earned weekend and supporting the local economy? Uhm......Okay....

And that's why they say the South is backwards.

Also 1, does anyone here know much about installing a sprinkler system? That's my project this weekend, and while I've done my research and have it mapped out in CAD, I'm not 100% sure I've covered all my bases.

This is a very western, Quaker notion. In the middle east (and in Islam) it is considered godly to help others by paying them to do jobs. You are sharing your wealth and helping your fellow man that way.

Just sayin' there are two sides....

EDIT: Jen must now buckle down and get 8 hours of work and 2 weeks of laundry in time to head to promotion day in 3 hours (I have a bunch of friends who were promoted and its an afternoon of open bar) :-)

Okay Folks. Time I have written my first DIY- SO, here it goes.

How to make Oatmeal in the office:

Step 1:
Get a cup and pour hot water in.

Becareful not to pour too much in. However, not enough is just has bad. You will need about 1/2 cup of water per oatmeal packet. I eyeball this

Step 2:
Gather the remaining tools:

1 Cup with hot water
1 (or 2) oatmeal packets- Choice of flavor.
1 spoon

Step 3:
Carefully pour oatmeal packet into cup containing hot water. Careful not to spill the oatmeal dust on your desk. If you this happens, look around carefully, if no one is watching, wipe onto floor (gotta keep DF in business somehow).

Step 4:
Use the spoon you gathered in back step 2 to stir. This where you hope you poured enough hot water into the cup.

Step 5:
Enjoy!

*results may vary depending on flavor, oatmeal brand, and amount of water used.

I get the logic of why you'd pay for a gardener. But personally, I make such a small amount of money (ok, actually I make damn good money for a 22 year old but I have to live in Fairfax to do it so it all leaves my account as quick as it comes in) that I can't even imagine when $100 will be worth less to me than one hour of my time. Hell, I'd work 8+ hours to save $100.

My weekends are hard earned, but I can't just spend money that's not there because of it.

If you want a fat, heavy, turbo, AWD sedan that's super unreliable why not just get an Audi? That's what they're good at making and the Audi's of the same vintage were spared the ugly stick.

heavy, sure. fat, eh maybe depending on how you view it. Super unreliable? not so much, the earlier ones are not without issues but by 70k miles most of that has been replaced or is now covered by an extended factory warranty, I've done my reading and I know about the wastegate issues on the earlier turbos, and the fuel pump problem that everyone knows about, and the lesser known but still prevalent carbon build up issues with the intake valves (which is usually fixed by 30k if it happens at all) AWD because 1 car and New England, and it's leaps and bounds more comfortable and enjoyable than my car is, or has been.

I thought about just "settling" for an E90 328xi with a 6 speed manual but I know it wouldn't take me long to want more power and be envious of the turbo versions, so why not just buy the 335 and deal with it. Everyone i've talked to or lurked on in the E9x section seems to love them unconditionally like we do the E36 so I'm pretty cemented on my stance. If I could find a more affordable 335xi coupe I would buy that, but I can't find any in a decent price range, with acceptable milage and the trim package i want (sport seats, walnut dash, navi)
