Rear part of panoramic sunroof

I am wondering if the rear part of sunroof opens upward ( vent position). I can only open (vent) the front part. In X5 both front and rear would open. This 2011 x3 35i
Reading some of the issues with rear part I will be happy if it does not but will unhappy if it does and mine does not -)

after having numerous issues with rear vent stuck in open position, was it decided to make this a fixed part? Will that also happen for 2014 x5?

The rear sunroof panel has always been fixed in place on the F25.

So pre-2011 models had both opening ? I am saying that realizing all the issues they fixed the rear vent issue by really 'fixing' it

Apparently so. You'll find a few threads on the E83 forum that discuss problems with the rear panel.

I owned a '05 E83 X3 from Aug '05 until Feb '13. The glass roof was larger. I do not recall that the rear glass panel moved. It had a larger opening than the F25. I never had any issues with mine.

If I recall, both my 2007 and 2009 X3s, the rear panel popped up as well as the front panel for vent and the headliner split open in the middle. Not so in my 2012 X3.
