Start with suspension and brakes, then performance. No fun going fast if you can't corner or stop. Holding a constant higher cornering speed makes the car appear quicker too....

i have one as well. but i just also started getting hands on with my car. its weird coz the e30 service manual by bentley shows an engine that looks different than ours. i actually found a photo of my engine but its tagging it under e36. so i nee help starting to replace my thermostat / water pump / and belts.

Congrats man! I just bought a 1991 318is and did a complete rebuild myself. Not very hard at all and I am a 22 year old amateur. The belts are easy as well as the thermostat. Waterpump doesn't take much as long as you turn the fan clutch the right way when removing it. Just get new gaskets and use a thin layer of gasket sealer. If you need anymore help or pictures of particular work, let me know.

Hi drjermey, I'm getting ready to replace my radiator on my 1991 318is too since it's leaking. Some one suggested for me to replace the water pump too while I'm at it. Any tips or warnings before I start? I've never messed with a BMW before. Just left the honda scene..

dont let the brand scare you. water pumps are the same. as drjermey said, make sure you loosen the clutch the correct way.

also since you are changing the radiator, you can look into a electric fan conversion to free up alil more power.

Thanks for your feedback DOWNHILLER. I'm assuming I have to remove the the fan and the fan clutch as well before I remove the water pump so is there a special technique or tool I should use to remove the fan and it's clutch? How difficult would it be to install an electrical fan? I saw a complete kit on pelican parts but wasn't sure if I should start on that since I'm unsure of what to do since I've never done it before, what do you all think?

there is a fan clutch removal tool. it is a lovely item that you could probably rent at autozone. and remember its backwards threaded.

the fan swap isnt bad. the wiring tend to be a little tedious depending on how you do it.

I have H&R Sport springs with Bilstein Sport shocks on mine. It sits about as low as what you're looking for.
