No AC when starting a warm engine

I havea 2002 3251. When I start it up from cold the AC runs and the temp control works fine. If I stop someplace and turn the engine off for a few minutes, when I start the car up again all I get is massive hot air. If I let the car sit for say 30 minutes it works fine. Any suggestions as to why the AC is not kicking in?

AC Problem fixed

After reading a lot of posts I realized that the wheel between the center vents was dialed to red. Once I dialed it to the three blue dots it has worked fine.
