Springs Installed Incorrectly?

I recently had some Eibach Pro Kit springs installed on my 330xi, and I am wondering if the shop was careless and did not install them correctly. Here is a picture of what I am guessing is a proper install: http://s150.photobucket.com/user/90r...20070.jpg.html.

On my car, on one side, the end of the spring is more than 2 inches from the notch on the lower perch, on the other side, you cannot even see the end of the spring. If I put my hand in I can feel it on the other side of the perch.

Also, the struts themselves (or at least one of them) seem to be oriented differently in that the notch on the perch is at a different position on one side versus the other.

Should I go back and make them redo the job. It cost more money than I think it should have, so I am inclined to demand perfection. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like you're half way to answering your own question.
I think the springs should be installed with at least matching orientation from one side to the other.
I do recall that when I installed my own struts, the oem spring coil ends did not fit where you might intuitively guess they belong. I had to check the other side when I went to reassemble for visual reference.

Yeah, they seem to be installed incorrectly, but I am just looking for ammo when I go back to the shop in case they just say that they are installed correctly, so that they do not have to redo the job.

Just installed differently from one side to the other is enough. Give it a try. If you run into resistance, try contacting someone at Eibach for backup.

Pro Kit installed in amateur way... kind of sad...

For me end of the spring ended up sitting quite naturally middle of the notch.
I just used all the time i needed for setting them perfect.

You should go back and demand them do it properly, and then never ever go to that same shop again.

How does the car ride? Is there a noticeable difference in ride height from one side to the other(as the car sits parked on level ground)? Do you hear any noise at any time that may be attributable to an improperly installed spring? By all means question the install and get a second opinion if you are not satisfied with their explanation- Good luck

Pics of your install sure would help.
