Lightbulb Side marker lights stay on?

Stupid question (I'm on a roll this week). When you unlock your e92 (2011 here), do your side marker lights blink twice then go off? I don't remember of they're supposed to stay on or not.

OCD is a bitch.

Thanks.

It depends.

Both the flash and the steady illumination afterward are controlled by in-car settings. For cars with iDrive, the settings are, respectively:
  • Settings > Door locks > Flash when locking/unlocking
  • Settings > Lighting > Welcome lights
Without iDrive, hunt through the menus accessed from the BC stalk controls.

In addition, the headlight switch must be in the Auto position for the welcome lights to function.
