Repair or Replace my Driver Seat???
The driver side seat cushion foam broke down from getting in and out of my E92 (coupe). (It is the bottom bolster closest to the door) As a result, the leatherette has a split developing in the bolster that needs to be fixed.
One of our good sponsors can sell me new foam.
There are many repair shops that can stitch in a new panel to replace the split section using BMW sourced material. Apart from the inevitable fading, the bottom should look OK if it is stitched in properly. However, my past experience with seat repairs is they never really look right again......
My question is; has anyone ever had a seat repaired with a new panel stitched in that they were happy with the end result? Or should I bite the bullet and get a whole new seat cover?
