Question Retained Power - Radio...?

Hello folks -

A "non-technical" friend of mine recently purchased a new GT. He would like for the radio to turn off when he turns the engine off.

Although my time to search has been limited, I haven't found anything in iDrive that will configure this... if not a setting in IDrive - can the dealer possibly program it to do so?

I don't have this issue with my 2008 X3.

Thanks in advance -
T

Press the start/stop button a second time...otherwise, the radio and a lot of other things will continue to run for about 8-minutes or so.

Retained Power - Radio...?

and to add to jad's post, .......This could eventually deplete the battery that the RBS will not overcome depending on driving patterns. This condition could cause starting problems in very cold winter weather, should your friend experience this where he lives. See my previous posts if this is the case.

Press the stop button twice when shutting down the car.

Or locking the car after exiting will she everything down immediately.

or everything shuts down after 8 min, as previously mentioned.

code it

Or get it coded, everything shuts down as soon as driver opens his door, after shutting engine.

I recommended the 2nd push of the Stop/Start button (with foot off brake). He said that did nothing. Maybe he waited too long? Not long enough? I will try it myself when i get a chance.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

Unless they changed the basic programming, that short cycles the delayed turn-off - it certainly works on mine!
